The role of a Cruise Terminal Security Officer at Securitas in Anchorage, AK, offers a dynamic and rewarding career opportunity for individuals interested in entering the security field. The role requires open availability, with the expectation of being available at least two shifts per week, covering any day as needed. The wage range for this position is competitive, ranging from $23.00 to $27.00 per hour.

As a Cruise Terminal Security Officer, you will be the frontline presence ensuring safe access control, conducting patrols both inside and outside client premises under various weather and terrain conditions, and maintaining a calm and professional demeanor while interacting with employees and guests. This position offers the chance to develop key skills such as conflict resolution, de-escalation techniques, and effective emergency response. Additionally, you will be tasked with identifying safety hazards, reporting suspicious activity, and providing detailed written reports to support client safety objectives.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age or older
  • Valid driver’s license and clear driving record required
  • Willingness to travel to Whittier and Seward, AK with provided transportation
  • Open availability with ability to work at least two shifts weekly
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment screening including drug screening and background check
  • Ability to work in various weather and terrain conditions
  • Ability to maintain calm and use appropriate escalation techniques in emergencies

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or ability to complete GED within 6 months
  • Customer service background preferred
  • Security, law enforcement, or military experience a plus
  • Standard computer and technology skills
  • Ability to remain calm and professional while interacting with a wide range of individuals
  • Excellent attention to detail and alertness during shifts
  • Capability to respond swiftly and effectively to emergencies

Job Duties

  • Perform access control at security entrances and exits
  • Conduct patrols inside and outside client premises in various weather and terrains
  • Interact frequently with client employees and guests in a professional manner
  • Identify and report safety issues, hazardous conditions, and suspicious activity
  • Provide detailed written security reports
  • Work collaboratively in a team to meet organizational safety goals
  • Carry out specific site-related security tasks and duties
