Job Requirements
- Medical Assistant Diploma from an accredited school/program
- High School Diploma or GED
- minimum one year of relevant experience and/or training in medical office, urgent care, physician office, customer service, receptionist, or medical assistant role
- knowledge of multi-line phone systems
- proficient in computers and relevant software including EMR systems
- knowledge of customer service principles
- demonstrated initiative and organizational skills
- exceptional interpersonal communication skills
- ability to work independently and accept direction
- ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- must be able to sit for long periods
- manual dexterity for computer use
- ability to have face-to-face conversations with patients and staff
- ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- reliable transportation and willingness to travel within assigned region
Job Qualifications
- Medical Assistant Diploma from an accredited program
- High School Diploma or GED
- minimum one year of relevant experience in medical office or urgent care
- proficiency in electronic medical records and practice management software
- knowledge of multi-line phone systems
- strong customer service skills
- excellent interpersonal communication with a friendly and positive tone
- strong organizational skills
- ability to work independently and as part of a team
- discretion in handling confidential information
Job Duties
- Welcomes patients and visitors in person or on the telephone
- schedules appointments and answers general inquiries
- registers patients and maintains flow using Experity
- verifies insurance and patient information
- collects payments and explains fees
- follows up on missed appointments and patient satisfaction
- maintains filing systems and manages office supplies
- reviews patient health history and records vital signs
- documents interactions in EMR
- processes prescriptions, lab and imaging orders
- assists providers during exams and procedures
- performs phlebotomy when needed
- ensures clinic cleanliness and readiness
- covers front and back office duties as needed
- travels to clinic locations within assigned region
