This role is for a CDL Class A Truck Driver positioned within LKQ Corporation, tasked with the responsibility of safely operating commercial vehicles with a gross weight capacity exceeding 10,001 lbs. This full-time position comes with a competitive annual salary of $68,640 and offers an excellent benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance among other perks. The primary duty of this role involves transporting company products over long distances, often crossing state or provincial lines, to various distribution centers, wholesalers, and drop box locations. Drivers are expected to comply fully with Department of Transportation regulations, maintain excellent safety records, and handle cargo loading and unloading to ensure product integrity throughout the transit process.

Drivers in this role will be engaged in verifying shipment accuracy, obtaining delivery confirmations, and managing paperwork tied to each delivery and return. This position requires a nighttime work schedule and regular travel, including overnight trips, emphasizing the need for physical endurance and adherence to safety protocols. The ideal candidate will bring a proactive attitude toward quality improvement initiatives, participate in ongoing training programs, and perform assigned duties efficiently with minimal supervision. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • 2+ years of commercial driving and warehouse related experience
  • Accredited commercial driving school certificate
  • CDL Class A license (EZ Driver license for Canada)
  • Fully DOT qualified with valid commercial vehicle driver’s license
  • Acceptable driving record
  • Must meet Department of Transportation testing and physical requirements
  • Knowledgeable of DOT regulations
  • Minimum age of 21
  • Compliance with state, local, DOT, and FMCSA regulations

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 3+ years of related experience
  • 2+ years of commercial driving and warehouse related experience
  • Accredited commercial driving school certificate
  • CDL Class A license (EZ Driver license for Canada)
  • Fully DOT qualified with a valid driver’s license and proper endorsements
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals
  • Familiarity with Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously

Job Duties

  • Drive truck to transfer product between locations, wholesaler and drop box locations in outlying markets
  • Pickup truck at the warehouse/cross dock and may load truck according to safety standards and to ensure product integrity
  • Verify the condition of the truck, the manifest and other paperwork associated with the delivery
  • Drive to the destination and may physically unload the truck, verify parts unloaded, obtain signature of receiving location confirming accuracy of parts and sign off on the integrity of what was loaded
  • Make proper notations on the manifest or provide credit memos on parts being returned
  • Pick up stock purchase orders or buy out purchase orders from vendors and bring parts back to the location
  • Complete check-in process when returning to the location to verify parts and paperwork
  • Turn in paperwork after check-in
  • Comply with established company policies and procedures
  • Initiate and support continual improvement of LKQ's quality improvement program
  • Pass random drug testing as required
  • Successful completion of annual training as assigned
  • Operate in compliance with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration rules and regulations
  • Assume other duties as assigned
