The role of the Facilities Technician - Critical Facilities with ABM focuses on maintaining all mechanical equipment within data centers at peak operational efficiency. Given the critical nature of data centers, which support mission-critical servers requiring a whopping 99.999% uptime, this position demands vigilance and technical expertise. The technician will perform preventive maintenance, daily corrective tasks, and emergency responses to facility-related issues. Serving as a key focal point for facility operations within a specific data center, the technician supports ongoing data center operations to ensure seamless function and reliability of mechanical systems.
This role offers a blend of hands-on mechanical work coupled with system monitoring and problem-solving that directly impacts the infrastructure's uptime and performance. The technician will work with advanced HVAC systems, including air handling units (AHUs), computer room air conditioning (CRAC) units, direct expansion (DX) systems, chilled water systems, and various motors, pumps, and variable frequency drives (VFDs). The technician will also utilize Building Automation Systems (BAS) and Building Management Systems (BMS) to monitor and troubleshoot equipment, ensuring all systems operate within prescribed parameters. Beyond maintenance duties, this position provides opportunities for career growth into more advanced technician roles and leadership positions, supported by mentoring from seasoned professionals and a structured advancement track.
Joining ABM’s data center team means working in a rapidly growing sector of a respected global company, where individuals can gain exposure to mission-critical infrastructure and modern HVAC technologies. The company offers a competitive compensation package and comprehensive benefits, fostering a supportive work environment committed to employee growth, safety, and operational excellence. ABM values strong communication and teamwork skills, and this role will require collaboration across teams and with vendors during scheduled maintenance and emergency responses.

The company encourages individuals with specific military occupational specialties such as 91E, 91C, EM, HT, MK, DC, 1161, 1341, and 3E1X1 to consider this career path. The commitment to safety is paramount, with adherence to all safety protocols including LOTO, SDS, PPE, and site-specific procedures. Overall, the Facilities Technician - Critical Facilities role is ideal for individuals seeking to contribute to the reliability of critical infrastructure within a respected and growing global services organization.
