This role is crucial for the smooth operation of all Mighty Taco restaurants and involves a blend of customer interaction, food preparation, and facility maintenance. Crew Members are expected to embody the spirit of hospitality by engaging customers courteously and ensuring every order is accurate and timely.

This particular role offers a unique monetary incentive, with a $1.00 per hour differential for all hours worked past 9 PM, reflecting Mighty Taco's appreciation for their team members' dedication during late-night shifts. Crew Team Members must be committed to upholding the brand’s high standards, including mastery of the menu, adherence to sanitation and safety protocols, and offering a clean dining atmosphere. Employees are provided with thorough training to develop the skills necessary for success within the company, whether it’s mastering cashier procedures, suggestive selling, or precise food preparation.

The role requires competencies such as operating kitchen equipment, including ovens and tomato slicers, accurately reading Kitchen Display Screens to ensure order specifications are met, and executing tasks efficiently to meet a swift average service time of two minutes or less. Alongside front-end duties like handling cash and customer orders — even at a drive-thru requiring headset use — staff must also handle minor customer complaints effectively and maintain a positive restaurant environment.

In terms of facility upkeep, employees engage in both indoor and outdoor cleaning activities, ranging from mopping floors and sanitizing bathrooms to maintaining parking lots, patios, green spaces, and trash disposal areas. Seasonal tasks like shoveling snow and spreading salt on walkways are also essential to maintain safety and cleanliness.

Job Requirements

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Minimum starting age is 16 years old
  • Night closers must be 18 years old or older
  • Must have effective communication skills
  • Must have a passion for customer service
  • Must be able to work evenings and weekends
  • Must demonstrate reliability and punctuality

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 16 years old
  • Must pass menu test within first 15 hours of employment
  • Ability to handle cash transactions accurately
  • Strong communication skills including listening, understanding, and speaking
  • Ability to multi-task and solve problems
  • Ability to follow company sanitation and safety protocols
  • Experience in customer service preferred but not required
  • Ability to operate kitchen equipment

Job Duties

  • Interact with customers and team members professionally and courteously
  • Adhere to cashier procedures including suggestive selling and order verification
  • Take customer orders at front counter or drive-thru using a headset
  • Count money accurately and provide correct change
  • Demonstrate urgency to meet average service time of 2 minutes or less
  • Prepare food according to company standards and sanitation protocols
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens and tomato slicers
  • Read Kitchen Display Screens to fulfill orders accurately
  • Portion food to meet product standards
  • Handle minor customer complaints with friendliness
  • Perform inside cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dishwashing, and restroom sanitation
  • Perform outside cleaning duties including parking lot, patio, green spaces, and dumpster area maintenance
  • Shovel and spread salt during winter conditions
  • Comply with company dress code and health and safety standards
