Job Description
This job opportunity is with a McDonald's restaurant located at 3410 W Cary St, Richmond, VA, 23221, which is independently owned and operated by a franchisee. This franchisee holds a license to use McDonald's branding and food products but operates separately from McDonald's USA. As such, all employment decisions, including hiring, firing, scheduling, and staffing, are managed exclusively by the franchisee, not by McDonald's USA. This ensures a unique, locally managed workplace environment that values its employees and prioritizes their growth and development. McDonald's as a global brand is widely recognized for its commitment to operational excellence and customer satisfaction; however, this particular location offers the distinctive experience of franchise-driven management coupled with the global standards of McDonald's food quality and service. The franchisee emphasizes a supportive work environment where employees can thrive and build valuable skills applicable both within the company and elsewhere in their careers.
The role of a Crew Team Member at this McDonald's franchise is designed not just as a job but as an entry point for building life skills and career opportunities. This position offers flexible part-time hours that accommodate a variety of schedules, including breakfast shifts, lunch, late nights, and weekends. The starting pay is competitive, beginning at $14.18 per hour, with overnight shifts starting at $15.14 per hour. Crew Team Members benefit from industry-leading training programs and educational opportunities through McDonald's Archways to Opportunity, which includes options for high school completion, college tuition assistance, and English language courses. These programs underscore the company’s commitment to employee development and upward mobility.
As a Crew Team Member, the individual will engage closely with customers to ensure a positive dining experience, assisting them with orders and delivering excellent service. The position involves preparing and serving McDonald's famous menu items, maintaining cleanliness and appearance standards of the restaurant, and collaborating effectively with other team members and managers to meet daily operational goals. The role is fast-paced and requires someone with an outstanding attitude, a willingness to learn, adaptability, and the ability to work well in a team environment. Training will be provided to help crew members excel in their duties and grow professionally.
The franchisee's management fosters a culture of inclusion and support, recognizing that employees are the backbone of the business. More than 80% of employees express pride in working at McDonald's and would recommend employment with the company. This role offers a chance to be part of this dynamic team where contributions are valued, and personal progress is encouraged. Whether the individual is seeking their first job, needing to balance work with other commitments, or aspiring to a long-term career path in the hospitality industry, this McDonald's Crew Team Member position provides a meaningful, rewarding experience with room for quality advancement and educational support.
