The Full-Time Crew Member role at Wendy's is an essential position that plays a pivotal role in maintaining the smooth operation of the restaurant while delivering outstanding customer service. Crew members are responsible for greeting customers warmly, taking and recording accurate food and beverage orders, making suggestive sales, and answering customer questions to enhance their experience. They also manage the flow of customers by staging them efficiently in the serpentine area, ensuring a seamless process from order placement to food delivery.

Crew members are involved in selecting requested food items from serving or storage areas and assembling them correctly on trays or in takeout bags. They serve cold drinks, hot beverages, and desserts, as well as handle cash transactions and address customer inquiries or complaints professionally. Additionally, crew members assist in retrieving raw food stock for preparation, participate in food preparation duties, and ensure that eating and serving areas are kept orderly and clean.

Adherence to all company-issued policies and procedures is mandatory to maintain operational consistency and safety standards. The role demands physical stamina, as employees may need to stand, walk, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or lift weights up to 20 pounds, often working around high heat from grills and fryers and exposure to cooking oils and other food preparation materials.

This position is open to individuals aged 16 years or older and requires no prior experience or training, although a high school diploma is preferred. Key skills include the ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, handle basic mathematical operations with money and measurements, apply common sense understanding, and manage straightforward customer interactions. Certification opportunities such as Crew Leader and Shift Supervisor certifications are available for career progression.

Job Duties

  • Greets the customer
  • Suggestive sale and answer questions about products
  • Records the customer’s order
