Job Description
Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. (NYSE: CMG) is a renowned fast-casual restaurant chain dedicated to cultivating a better world by serving responsibly sourced, classically cooked real food with wholesome ingredients devoid of artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. With a presence spanning the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Germany, Chipotle stands out as the only restaurant company of its size to own and operate all its restaurants across North America and Europe. Known for its commitment to sustainability, digital innovation, and responsible sourcing, Chipotle is a leader and innovator in the food industry, continually reshaping the fast-food experience by combining speed with quality and ethical practices. The company has carved a niche by fostering a culture rooted in values, diversity, equity, and inclusion, making it a preferred place to work and dine.
The opportunity at Chipotle is more than just a job—it is the beginning of a rewarding career. Roles within Chipotle offer exceptional training and a well-defined career progression path, with over 80% of managers promoted internally from crew members. The company prides itself on a unique approach to food preparation, where all food is made fresh daily in the restaurant without using freezers, microwaves, or can openers. Employees receive comprehensive training that covers multiple stations including grilling, cashiering, prepping, salsa making, and expediting. This cross-functional training ensures employees are confident and versatile, contributing to excellent customer service and a welcoming atmosphere that guests appreciate.
Chipotle values individuals from diverse backgrounds and experiences—whether you have prior work experience in food service or no experience at all, the company welcomes passionate individuals eager to learn and grow. Key attributes include a friendly, enthusiastic attitude, a passion for serving others (both customers and team members), and a strong desire to learn how to cook. Employment opportunities are available for both full-time and part-time roles, with competitive compensation ranging from $18.50 to $19.50 per hour, plus digital tips. The comprehensive benefits package further enhances the appeal of working at Chipotle and includes medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage, paid time off, holiday closures, tuition assistance covering 100% of select degrees or up to $5,250 per year, free food, and opportunities for advancement.
Chipotle’s commitment to a people-first culture is evident in its approach to hiring, fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace. The company encourages applicants of all personal characteristics and complies with the Americans with Disabilities Act to provide reasonable accommodations during the hiring process. This holistic approach ensures that each team member is valued and empowered to contribute to Chipotle’s ongoing mission—making better food accessible to everyone while shaping the future of food and farming through responsible business practices. Joining Chipotle means becoming part of a fast-growing, innovative, and socially responsible company with a demonstrated purpose beyond just serving food—it’s about cultivating positive change every day.
