The opportunity available at Wendy's under the WKS Restaurant Group is for a Full-Time Crew Member. This role focuses on delivering outstanding customer service and guest courtesy in a fast-paced, fast-food environment. The primary goal is to exceed customer expectations through quick, orderly, and friendly service that meets the company standards of quality, service, and cleanliness. The role requires interaction with customers at various touchpoints, from greeting and taking orders to managing payment transactions and answering product-related questions. You'll be expected to maintain a smooth customer flow, selecting and preparing food items, serving beverages and desserts, and keeping eating and serving areas organized and clean.

As a Full-Time Crew Member at Wendy's, you will be an essential part of the team responsible for the overall dining experience. Your duties range from suggestive selling to ensure customer satisfaction, handling questions or complaints professionally, to helping maintain inventory by retrieving and preparing raw food stock. The position requires adherence to all company policies and procedures, ensuring a consistent and safe operation. This role not only demands teamwork and communication skills but also the physical ability to stand, walk, lift items up to 20 pounds, and perform tasks that involve bending, reaching, and handling kitchen and serving equipment.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 16 years old or older
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, and use hands to handle and feel
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Ability to lift at least 20 pounds at a time
  • Exposure to high heat from grill and fryer equipment
  • Exposure to cooking oils and materials used in preparing fast food products
  • Ability to follow company policies and procedures
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly with customers and team members
  • Flexibility to work various shifts and hours

Job Qualifications

  • No prior experience or training required
  • High School diploma preferred but not required
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to present information effectively in one-on-one and small group situations
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s
  • Ability to perform mathematical operations using units of American money, weight measurement, volume, and distance
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out simple one- or two-step instructions
  • Ability to deal with standardized situations with occasional or no variables
  • Crew Leader Certification
  • Shift Supervisor Certification

Job Duties

  • Greets the customer
  • Suggestive sale and answer questions about products
  • Records the customer’s order
  • Stages customers in serpentine area to maintain a smooth customer flow
  • Selects requested food items from serving or storage areas and assembles items on serving tray or in takeout bag
  • Serves cold drinks, hot beverages, and desserts
  • Receives payment
  • Assists customers with questions or complaints
  • Retrieves raw food stock and places at appropriate station for preparation
  • Performs duties to prepare food
  • Maintains orderly eating and serving areas
  • Ensures that he or she follows all company issued policies and procedures
