Job Description
Iron Heart Canning stands at the forefront of the mobile beverage canning industry, widely recognized for its commitment to quality and operational excellence. Operating across 27 states with warehouses strategically located nationwide, Iron Heart Canning specializes in providing on-site canning services to breweries, wineries, and other beverage manufacturers. This extensive network and dedication to superior service delivery have positioned Iron Heart as a leader in the mobile canning sector, setting industry standards for efficiency, cleanliness, and product integrity.
The company’s overarching mission is to support the dynamic needs of the beverage production community by offering flexible, reliable, and high-quality canning solutions. Through its mobile setup, Iron Heart's expert teams can arrive on location with all necessary equipment to carry out the canning process efficiently, minimizing downtime for its clients and boosting their production capabilities. The company’s reputation is built upon meticulous adherence to operational protocols that ensure the quality and safety of each product run.
The role of Canning Technician I at Iron Heart Canning is a part-time, seasonal position, ideally suited for individuals seeking hands-on work within the fast-growing beverage industry. Earning $18 per hour, this position offers both competitive compensation and opportunities to develop specialized industry knowledge through on-site training and daily operational involvement. The job’s core responsibility is to manage the setup and breakdown of canning equipment, ensuring that Clean-In-Place (CIP) sanitation procedures meet the high standards set by Iron Heart.
Beyond the technical tasks, the Canning Technician I will play an essential role in maintaining the smooth and continuous flow of cans on the production line. This involves transporting and handling heavy equipment via box trucks, performing routine quality checks, troubleshooting equipment issues such as labelers and date coders, and collaborating closely with other technicians and brewery staff. Attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and excellent communication skills are vital for success in this role.
This position requires physical stamina and strength, as technicians often work 8-12 hour shifts involving lifting heavy pallets, pushing canning lines weighing up to 800 pounds, and standing for extended periods. Flexibility in scheduling is also necessary due to variable brewery demands, including potential overnight stays.
Iron Heart Canning encourages continuous learning and values hardworking individuals with a positive attitude who take pride in their work. Previous knowledge or enthusiasm for craft beer and brewing is a plus, further enriching the team culture and enhancing collaboration within client environments.
Overall, the Canning Technician I role offers a unique entry point into the beverage manufacturing world, combining operational excellence, mechanical work, and teamwork in a dynamic, growth-focused company.
