The Richmond, VA office is currently seeking to expand its team by hiring a Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) Technician specializing in Construction Materials Testing (CMT). This role offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to contribute to meaningful engineering projects while developing professionally within a supportive and collaborative environment. The CQA Technician will be involved in field observations, testing, and reporting related to geosynthetic containment systems, various construction structures, and materials. This position requires a hands-on approach, excellent communication skills, and a passionate commitment to quality assurance in the civil and environmental engineering sectors. Employment is offered on a full-time basis, with a competitive hourly wage ranging from $19 to $25, depending on geographic location and other factors, ensuring equitable and competitive compensation for all employees.

As a CQA Technician at Schnabel, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that construction projects meet stringent quality and safety standards. You will be responsible for the observation and documentation of various construction activities including subgrade preparation, excavation, backfill placement, compaction, concrete and asphalt testing, as well as monitoring geosynthetic materials used in containment systems. The position requires collecting and maintaining testing data and instrumentation, troubleshooting equipment such as nuclear gauges, and preparing detailed reports that communicate field observations and test results to contractors and engineers.
