Job Description

Covered S Ranch is a distinguished ranch located in Texas that offers a unique blend of hospitality, outdoor living, and rustic charm. Known for its scenic landscapes and warm, inviting environment, the ranch is a favored destination for guests seeking a memorable and immersive countryside experience. The ranch operates with a strong commitment to delivering excellent customer service, ensuring that every visitor enjoys a comfortable and enjoyable stay in an authentic rural setting. This establishment values a hands-on approach to property care and guest relations, maintaining its reputation through diligent upkeep and personalized service. The Covered S Ranch provides an engaging environment for individuals who thrive on responsibility, enjoy working across multiple disciplines, and take pride in contributing to a welcoming atmosphere for guests and visitors.

The role of Live-in Caretaker/Cook at Covered S Ranch is a multifaceted position reporting directly to the Ranch Manager. This essential role involves managing the Hacienda area with dedication and precision, preparing and cooking meals, and delivering exceptional service to guests. The live-in nature of the position indicates that the caretaker is integrated into the ranch's daily life, requiring a reliable, self-motivated individual capable of balancing various responsibilities simultaneously. Responsibilities include planning and implementing menus, overseeing food preparation to meet safety and quality standards, managing inventory and supplies, and ensuring the kitchen's cleanliness and organization meet high standards. Additionally, the caretaker is responsible for light housekeeping duties including cleaning, laundry, maintaining public and private areas, and addressing minor repairs. Groundskeeping duties such as lawn mowing, garden maintenance, pool and spa care, and preparation for changing weather conditions are also key aspects of the job.

This role demands excellent customer service skills, the ability to work independently, and the capacity to manage time effectively during busy periods. The position requires physical stamina to handle cleaning, cooking, and groundskeeping tasks, as well as the skill to operate basic electronic devices for scheduling and communication purposes. Furthermore, the caretaker acts as the ranch's point of contact in emergency situations, emphasizing the importance of responsibility and quick decision-making. This employment opportunity suits individuals interested in rural living who have a passion for cooking, property maintenance, and guest relations. Compensation details and the specific terms of employment are determined by the Covered S Ranch management and are designed to reflect the scope and responsibilities of this unique live-in position.
