Job Description

Intercare Therapy is a leading provider of behavioral health services across the Greater Los Angeles and San Fernando Valley areas, specializing in support for school-aged children with unique behavioral needs. The company partners with school districts including LAUSD and LBUSD to deliver high-quality therapeutic interventions designed to promote student growth and well-being. Known for its commitment to personalized and compassionate care, Intercare Therapy operates behavioral health centers and offers a range of flexible services tailored to meet the demands of diverse school environments.

The Coverage Behavior Technician position at Intercare Therapy is a critical role within the School Services team, designed to ensure uninterrupted service delivery when regular Behavior Interventionists are unavailable. As a floating technician, you will provide essential coverage support across various schools, maintaining quality care by implementing Individual Education Plans (IEP) and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP) collaboratively with educators. This role demands a high degree of flexibility and mobility, as you will be traveling to multiple school locations within the assigned regions, including LAUSD, LBUSD, and other districts.

This position guarantees a minimum of 30 hours per week during the regular school year (RSY), primarily scheduled Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Compensation is competitive, offering $23 to $25 per hour. When coverage assignments are not scheduled, the Coverage Behavior Technician will report to one of Intercare Therapy's Behavioral Health Centers to perform critical non-coverage duties, ensuring continuous contribution to the program's success.

The role encompasses both direct therapeutic and administrative responsibilities. You will apply Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methodologies to provide individualized support addressing specific student behaviors. Monitoring students during transitions, meals, and other daily activities will be part of your tasks, alongside facilitating recreational activities and supporting off-campus trips. Meticulous documentation is required to track student behavior and progress, ensure compliance, and inform future intervention strategies. Responding to emergencies with Nonviolent Crisis Intervention techniques and maintaining effective communication with supervisors and agency staff are also essential components of this role.

In addition to hands-on support, the Coverage Behavior Technician is tasked with administrative duties such as completing session notes, updating client records in the practice management system, collecting client signatures, and reporting on observable client behaviors. Maintaining client confidentiality and employing safe handling procedures are paramount. This role supports program compliance by assisting in the review of team performance metrics, including session cancellations, minutes utilization, and documentation accuracy.

Intercare Therapy emphasizes professional development, requiring participation in ongoing trainings, staff meetings, and in-services to stay current with best practices and technical knowledge. The Coverage Behavior Technician will work under the guidance of the Supervisor of School Services and the Vice President of Post Launch Operations, collaborating closely with care coordinators, case and launch planners, and other team members to ensure seamless service delivery.

This opportunity offers an impactful career that influences the lives of students across multiple school districts. It is ideal for candidates with a background in behavioral intervention or special education who are looking to leverage their skills in a dynamic, supportive environment. If you have strong communication abilities, a commitment to flexibility, and a passion for positive behavioral change, this role at Intercare Therapy represents a fulfilling and rewarding path in the behavioral health field.
