The Area Director Revenue-Hotel role is a critical leadership position responsible for identifying and maximizing all revenue opportunities across a portfolio of full-service, premium select, and independent branded hotels. This role requires a results-driven individual who can provide strategic revenue management support daily to the team. The Area Director will align both long-term and short-term revenue goals with system reporting and analytic tools while ensuring accurate forecasting to optimize total revenue and profitability. As a key member of the Executive Committee, this role plays an integral part in guiding hotel operations and growth strategies. Key responsibilities include managing yield controls, collaborating closely with General Managers and Directors of Sales, and coordinating with front office, sales, and marketing teams to enhance revenue through inventory management, group bookings, and promotional activities. The Area Director will also oversee relationships with brand and third-party distribution channels, analyze market and sales data, and make informed yield management decisions to support sales strategies and increase market share. Strong communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills are necessary to facilitate meetings, provide training, and lead special projects. This position also involves contributing to budgeting and forecasting processes, monitoring financial performance indicators such as RevPAR index, and actively participating in ownership reviews and industry functions. The role may include developing and coaching revenue management teams to elevate overall performance and achieve strategic revenue objectives. Candidates should be prepared to work diligently each day to fulfill their responsibilities and contribute to the hotel's ongoing success and profitability.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 6 years of progressive experience in hotel or related field or 4-year college degree with 4 years related experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel
- Understanding of hotel operations and yield management
- Knowledge of PMS systems and travel industry reports
- Ability to analyze financial data and perform arithmetic functions
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask
- Service-oriented and professional demeanor
- Compliance with company policies and standards
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 6 years of progressive experience in hotel or related field or 4-year college degree in business statistics, revenue management, or hospitality with 4 years related experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, especially Excel
- Understanding of general hotel operations and yield management philosophy
- Familiarity with branded or similar PMS systems, internet and travel websites, and industry reports including Travelclick and STR
- Ability to work with financial information and basic arithmetic functions
- Strong critical thinking skills to analyze demand and production changes
- Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Friendly and service-oriented approach to guests, owners, and associates
- Compliant with company standards and regulations
Job Duties
- Set, manage, and collaborate with GM/DOS to input appropriate yield controls to maximize hotel revenue
- Coordinate with front office team to maximize revenue through effective inventory management and upselling
- Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to optimize group and catering bookings and meeting space utilization
- Manage brand/third-party channels and relationships, analyze ROI of promotions and marketing programs
- Relay information from meetings to stakeholders and facilitate meetings as required
- Leverage and maintain Sales and Revenue Management systems for forecasting, daily operations, and reporting
- Analyze revenue reports to make yield management decisions and update inventory and rates
- Perform displacement analysis to support group sales and communicate recommendations
- Conduct test calls to verify rate quoting accuracy and selling approaches
- Prepare and analyze market segmentation, production, source contribution, and pick-up reports
- Review STR report results and develop strategies to improve RevPAR Index
- Develop and adjust group pricing strategies and manage preferred patterns and need periods
- Provide training on system use and revenue management principles
- Engage in annual budget and pricing processes and contribute to forecasting
- Participate in monthly financial and ownership reviews focusing on sales, revenue, and P&L
- Represent the hotel at industry functions and manage group cut off dates
- Monitor hotel status daily and adjust inventory controls as needed
- Undertake special projects, task forces, committees, and training
- Develop and coach revenue management teams where applicable
