The Courtyard Charleston Historic District is a distinguished hotel located in the heart of Charleston's Historic District, adjacent to Marion Square and close to Charleston's newest premier venue, The Gaillard Center. The Courtyard Charleston Historic District caters to a diverse clientele seeking exceptional service and memorable experiences, positioning the hotel as a leader in the hospitality and event management industry in the region.
We are currently looking for a dedicated and dynamic Convention Services Manager to join our team. This position plays a pivotal role in driving catering and food and beverage sales while ensuring the flawless execution of events that leave a lasting impression on clients and guests alike. The Convention Services Manager works closely with the Director of Sales or Director of Catering & Convention Services, leveraging their expertise to achieve revenue goals and enhance overall guest satisfaction.
The successful candidate will act as the primary liaison between the hotel and its clients, building strong relationships and delivering outstanding service. Responsibilities include supervising event planning, ensuring all event orders are accurate and timely, and communicating changes effectively to provide seamless event experiences. The role requires staying ahead of market trends to offer innovative ideas and services that enhance client experiences and contribute to the hotel's reputation for excellence.
This position is classified as an overtime eligible manager (OEM) role, with overtime compensated according to relevant regulations. The Convention Services Manager must be proactive, creative, and highly organized, with a passion for hospitality and an ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure. Excellent communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and strong selling techniques are essential to succeed in this role. Beyond managing events, the role contributes to the overall positive atmosphere of the property, working collaboratively with other departments to support hotel operations and guest satisfaction.

Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent required
- creativity and knowledge of food and beverage events, plus professional selling skills desired
- valid driver’s license for the applicable state required
- strong verbal and written communication skills to negotiate, convince, and influence clients and colleagues
- proficiency in Microsoft Office and general computer use
- ability to manage multiple tasks independently and present effectively
