The role of Front Desk Agent at Courtyard by Marriott is vital in setting the tone for guests’ experiences during their visit. Front Desk Agents act as the first point of contact for guests, where delivering personalized service with poise and professionalism is paramount. This position demands a balance of efficiency and warmth, requiring the agent to manage front desk operations effectively to minimize check-in and check-out times while ensuring guests feel genuinely welcomed. The agents are responsible for directing guest inquiries and requests to the appropriate hotel departments, such as food service, laundry, concierge, and housekeeping, handling each interaction with tact, courtesy, and professionalism.

In addition to guest interaction, Front Desk Agents maintain an organized and inviting lobby area, ensuring that common spaces reflect the high standards of the hotel’s brand. They are also required to keep themselves updated on hotel policies, room rates, discounts, and special promotions, as well as knowledge of local events and hotel offerings to enhance the guests’ stay experiences. The ability to multitask efficiently, manage customer transactions accurately, and maintain a professional image in appearance and behavior is essential to succeed in this role. The position typically requires working evening shifts from 2-10pm or 3-11pm, including weekends and holidays.

Job Requirements

  • Must have excellent English communication skills and be able to read, write and speak fluently

Job Duties

  • Efficiently manages the operations of the front desk, ensuring minimal time is required for check in and checkout
  • warmly and professionally welcomes all guests
  • directs guests to appropriate hotel staff for assistance with questions and special requests regarding food, laundry, concierge services, or housekeeping
  • treats requests with professionalism, tact, and a courteous manner
  • ensures prompt delivery of final bills to guests
  • ensures the lobby and shared areas are neat and orderly
  • keeps updated knowledge of hotel policies including room rates, discounts, special offerings, and community events
  • maintains knowledge of upcoming events, local area, and hotel offerings
