The Courier role at Amrize is essential to the smooth operation of their supply chain and customer service efforts. This position involves making timely pickups and deliveries of shipments to and from various company facilities, ensuring that materials are transported efficiently and safely. The courier is responsible for developing strong working knowledge of both new and existing clients and business locations to optimize routes and service delivery. Providing excellent customer service to both internal employees and external parties such as vendors and visitors is crucial, reflecting the professional standards of Amrize.
Couriers must maintain open communication with regional and corporate staff to coordinate transportation schedules and address any delivery or pickup issues proactively. Maintaining the company vehicle in excellent working condition by performing or scheduling preventive maintenance tasks such as checking fuel, fluid levels, and tire conditions is part of the role. The position also requires adherence to all health, safety, and environmental policies, promoting a culture of safety throughout daily operations. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year experience performing courier duties
- Ability to work overtime and weekends
- Basic computer skills with working knowledge of PC applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Internet
- Must adhere to all safety protocols and proper use of Amrize approved Personal Protection Equipment including respirators
- Employees required to wear respirators must be clean shaven where the respirator seal meets the face to pass fit tests
- Overtime and on-call availability to accommodate emergency situations and changing schedules
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year experience performing courier duties
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with ability to interact effectively at all levels of internal management and with public clients, guests, and vendors
- Ability to prioritize work effectively
- Basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Internet
- CDL preferred
- Ability to work overtime and weekends
Job Duties
- Develop and maintain working knowledge of new and existing businesses to effectively function in the field regarding proper delivery and pickups
- Provide excellent customer service to employees as well as external vendors and visitors
- Proactively identify errors and omissions in deliveries/pickups to eliminate redundancy in required stops
- Advise supervisor when repairs or extensive maintenance are required for the company vehicle
- Maintain good communication with other regional and corporate personnel to ensure timely transportation of pickups and deliveries
- Perform or schedule preventative and regular minor maintenance on company delivery vehicle, including checking fuel, fluid levels, tires, and keeping accurate maintenance records
- Make scheduled and non-scheduled pickups and deliveries
- Ensure that safety, compliance and environmental requirements are followed in the delivery of shipments
- Demonstrate commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to health, safety and environmental policies
- Promote a culture of safety and exhibit these behaviors
- Perform other duties as assigned
