As a Counter Staff member at Tide Cleaners, you will play a vital role in upholding the company’s commitment to outstanding customer experience. You will be responsible for managing front-end operations that include assisting customers with dry cleaning and laundry drop-off and pick-up procedures, ensuring garment quality meets rigorous standards, and consistently delivering professional and courteous service.
Your role involves extensive interaction with customers both in-store and through various communication channels such as phone and email. You will handle customer inquiries, resolve concerns promptly, and foster positive relationships by understanding and addressing the needs of each client. The position demands accuracy, particularly in transaction management, where you will be expected to calculate prices and process payments efficiently, handling cash and credit transactions responsibly.
In addition to direct customer service, your duties will include performing garment check-ins and check-outs, tagging items properly, and maintaining an organized counter area. You will contribute to the smooth operation of the store by assisting in opening and closing procedures and meeting daily operational goals. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred
- Basic math skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Positive attitude and strong communication skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work part-time up to 29 hours per week

Job Duties

- Provide outstanding in-store service for dry cleaning and laundry pick-up/drop-off customers
- Manage customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person
- build rapport, identify needs, and resolve issues or complaints professionally
- Perform check-in/check-out tasks, tag and spot-check garments, and organize items per customer requests
- Accurately calculate prices and handle cash/credit transactions
- Ensure all garments meet Tide Dry Cleaners' quality standards
- Help train new employees in store procedures and processes
- Open/close the store, set and meet daily goals, and maintain a clean, organized counter area
- Work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail, while standing for extended periods
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
