The role of Counter Staff is a vital position within Tide Cleaners, responsible for representing the brand directly to customers and ensuring a seamless service experience. This full-time opportunity involves working closely under the supervision of both the Counter Manager and General Manager, ensuring that daily operations run smoothly and efficiently. This position requires individuals who enjoy interacting with people and can thrive in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. The responsibilities range from managing customer inquiries and performing garment check-in and check-out to handling transactional duties such as pricing and payment processing. Counter Staff must also maintain the quality standards expected by Tide Cleaners by accurately spotting and tagging garments and ensuring that all items meet the company’s stringent quality assurance measures.
Beyond direct customer interactions, this role involves contributing to store operations, including opening and closing procedures, maintaining an organized workspace, and helping train new employees on store protocols and processes. Employees are expected to be adaptable, detail-oriented, and capable of standing for extended periods while delivering outstanding customer service.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members
- Basic computer skills for handling transactions
- Physical ability to stand for long periods
- Availability to work full-time shifts including weekends
- Prior experience in customer service or retail is a plus
Job Qualifications
- Basic math skills and ability to recognize numbers
- Self-motivated with a positive, energetic attitude
- Strong leadership and teamwork qualities
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and development
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Previous experience in hospitality or customer service is preferred
Job Duties

- Provide outstanding in-store service for dry cleaning and laundry pick-up/drop-off customers
- Manage customer inquiries via phone, email, and in-person
- build rapport, identify needs, and resolve issues or complaints professionally
- Perform check-in/check-out tasks, tag and spot-check garments, and organize items per customer requests
- Accurately calculate prices and handle cash/credit transactions
- Ensure all garments meet Tide Dry Cleaners quality standards
- Help train new employees in store procedures and processes
- Open/close the store, set and meet daily goals, and maintain a clean, organized counter area
- Work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail, while standing for extended periods
- Perform additional tasks as assigned
