With a diverse workforce of 18,000 associates, Airgas fosters a culture where safety and innovation thrive. As a subsidiary of Air Liquide, a global leader in gases, technologies, and services for industry and healthcare operating in 60 countries with approximately 66,500 employees, Airgas benefits from a worldwide network dedicated to quality and excellence.
The Counter Sales Representative role based in Midland, TX within a retail shop setting is an essential position that bridges Airgas' products and customer needs. This full-time role operates Monday through Friday with no weekend work, providing stability and a consistent work schedule. The position supports the company's dedication to a safe and inclusive workplace by embracing diversity, valuing every team member’s unique perspective, and offering support through comprehensive family benefits starting within the first 30 days of employment.
As a Counter Sales Representative, you will be a trusted advisor to customers, offering industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding equipment, and essential supplies. Your expertise will help customers select the right tools and materials for their projects by demonstrating equipment usage and sharing product insights. You will cultivate long-term relationships by delivering exceptional customer service, supporting both internal and external partners. Responsibilities include strict adherence to safety protocols and company policies, meticulous handling of transactions and paperwork, managing orders and inventory, coordinating logistics, and maintaining a welcoming and organized showroom.
The role requires working closely with customers via multiple communication channels including phone, email, and in person to provide product information, cost guidance, and delivery coordination. You'll play a key part in operational success by contributing to outbound call strategies, supporting deposit reconciliation, transferring merchandise between locations, and ensuring the showroom is both well-stocked and inviting.
Airgas prioritizes the growth and development of its employees. This role offers access to a broad range of benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and disability insurance; paid parental leave; 401(k) with company match; tuition assistance; and generous paid time off such as holidays, vacation, sick leave, and floating holidays. The company promotes a drug-free workplace environment and values employees who are detail-oriented, able to thrive in a fast-paced setting, and willing to occasionally support overtime needs.
Joining Airgas means becoming part of a company that values innovation, diversity, and a supportive culture. Your contributions will directly impact customer success and the ongoing growth of the Midland branch. The role offers a fulfilling career path where you can grow and develop while making a difference in a dynamic and expanding industry.
