The role of Counter Sales Representative in San Francisco, CA, offers an excellent opportunity for motivated individuals who wish to contribute to this thriving environment. This full-time position pays a base hourly rate between $26 to $28.50 depending on experience and operates from Monday through Friday with no weekend work, ensuring work-life balance. Employees are provided with personal protective equipment (PPE) to guarantee workplace safety.

As a Counter Sales Representative, you will become a trusted advisor to customers by providing guidance on essential industrial, medical, and specialty gases, along with welding equipment and other critical supplies. You will help customers navigate the selection of tools, hardware, and materials essential to completing their projects successfully. Demonstrating equipment use and sharing product knowledge are key aspects of the role to enhance customer confidence and satisfaction.

You will support adherence to company safety policies while fostering excellent customer service relationships with both internal partners and external clients. Your duties will also involve managing accurate documentation including coding, costing, and pricing paperwork. By partnering with customers, you will identify the best solutions tailored to their specific tasks and manage transaction processing and deposit reconciliation. Communication with customers and team members via phone, email, and face-to-face interactions will be vital in providing timely information on costs and delivery schedules.

The position also entails participation in sales growth initiatives such as outbound call strategies, managing merchandise transfers between locations, and maintaining an inviting showroom and organized warehouse environment. These tasks will help the branch meet evolving customer needs and support its ongoing success.

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in product, warehouse, or sales environments

  • Experience in industrial retail, inside sales, or inventory control is a plus
  • Attention to detail in handling transactions
  • Availability for occasional overtime when the team needs extra support
  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace
  • A background in gas, welding, or safety supplies is a wonderful asset
  • Familiarity with SAP, Google, or MS Office applications
  • A detailed understanding of SAP and PROS functionalities
  • The ability to communicate clearly and warmly with a wide variety of people from different backgrounds

Job Duties
