The Counter Sales Associate plays a vital role in the daily operations at Duncan Supply. This position involves direct interaction with customers to ensure they receive the parts and equipment necessary for their projects or repair needs. The role demands strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively assist customers, process orders, and provide updates on order status. Proficiency with computer systems is essential, as the position requires the use of technology to manage orders from initiation to completion while keeping the customer informed of any delays or changes.

Additionally, this role requires the ability to manage after-hours phone inquiries and occasionally lift items weighing up to 70 pounds. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • prior experience in sales or customer service preferred
  • reliable and responsible work ethic

  • ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize
  • ability to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally
  • availability to work in-person at the Dayton location

Job Qualifications

  • US work authorization
  • valid drivers license
  • HVAC or refrigeration knowledge preferred
  • strong verbal and written communication skills
  • ability to use computer systems proficiently
  • customer service experience preferred
  • ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting occasionally

Job Duties

  • assist customers at the counter by identifying and locating the parts they need
  • process orders from start to finish, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • communicate order status and any delays to customers proactively
  • manage after-hours phone calls and customer inquiries
  • maintain knowledge of computer systems used in order processing and inventory
  • occasionally lift items up to 70 pounds
