The role of Counter Sales Associate at the Airgas Des Moines retail location is integral to customer engagement and operational success. This position focuses on partnering with customers by advising them on industrial gases, welding equipment, and essential project supplies. The associate acts as a trusted resource, helping customers choose the right products and effectively demonstrating equipment usage to boost customer confidence and project success. Physical demands include stocking inventory, moving items weighing up to 60 pounds regularly, and occasionally heavier loads with material handling assistance. A valid driver’s license is required for operating company vehicles, with preferred qualifications including experience with SAP and forklift operation.

Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • valid driver's license to drive a company vehicle
  • minimum of 2 years of previous product warehouse and or sales related experience and or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • intermediate knowledge of Google and or MS Office applications
  • requires frequent use of computer and telephones and occasional use of a forklift pallet jack or other material handling equipment
  • employee will frequently be required to position self to stock inventory and handle cylinders
  • excellent customer service skills
  • ability to routinely move up to 60 pounds and move more than 60 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment

  • collaborates on cylinder movement and pallet organization
