Airgas, an Air Liquide company, is a premier U.S. supplier specializing in industrial, medical, and specialty gases, along with related hardgoods and safety products. As one of the largest suppliers of safety products, ammonia products, and process chemicals in the United States, Airgas boasts a workforce of 18,000 employees driven by a culture that champions safety, customer success, sustainability, and innovation. Positioned as a subsidiary of Air Liquide—a global leader serving over 4 million customers and patients in 60 countries with approximately 66,500 employees—Airgas stands out for its commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment that values each individual's unique perspectives.
This commitment to diversity is not only a reflection of company values but a key driver of innovation and strength within the organization. Airgas empowers its associates to share ideas, take initiative, and make impactful decisions, creating a dynamic and supportive workplace where employees can grow professionally while contributing meaningfully to their industries. The company is devoted to ensuring safety and efficiency in all operations, focusing on sustainable product creation and delivery.
The Counter Sales Associate role at Airgas, located in Roseville, MN, offers an engaging position that blends customer service and operational responsibilities in an industrial and retail environment. This role is hourly, with competitive pay ranging from $24 to $26 per hour, and operates Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm with no weekend work, providing a balanced work schedule.
As a Counter Sales Associate, you will be the frontline partner to customers, providing them with essential industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding equipment, and related supplies necessary to complete their projects efficiently and safely. Your duties will include advising customers on the appropriate tools and products, demonstrating equipment use, and sharing valuable insights regarding product quality to assist customers in pioneering innovative solutions in their work.
This position emphasizes adherence to company policies, especially around safety and the use of personal protective equipment, to maintain a secure environment for all team members and customers. You will be expected to manage transactions with accuracy, including coding, costing, and pricing paperwork, and to assist in processing orders and reconciling deposits.
Coordination and communication are key components of the role, both with customers and internal teams, to enhance customer experience and support operational efficiency. This includes managing order entry, coordinating delivery details, facilitating merchandise transfer between locations, and contributing to outbound call strategies aimed at supporting branch growth and success. Maintaining a positive atmosphere in showroom displays and stock areas and organizing cylinder movement and pallet arrangement will also be part of your responsibilities.
Airgas supports its employees with comprehensive family benefits including medical, dental, vision, life, AD&D, and disability insurance, alongside a 14-week paid childbirth benefit to support parents. The company also provides a 401(k) retirement plan with company match, tuition assistance, vacation, paid holidays, and sick time. Airgas highly values employee wellbeing and career development, offering a workplace where diverse backgrounds are embraced and employees are encouraged to reach their full potential in a respectful, inclusive, and dynamic environment.
