The Counselor Supervisor role at BAART Programs is a full-time position integral to the delivery of high-quality counseling and casework services to patients struggling with substance abuse challenges. This role involves supervising Counselors and Counselor Interns to ensure treatment services comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and the company’s policies. The supervisor is responsible for overseeing clinical operations, managing caseloads, reviewing assessments, delivering direct supervision and training, and guaranteeing timely and accurate documentation in compliance with federal and state regulations. This requires a leader with strong clinical knowledge, exceptional organizational skills, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

In this position, the Counselor Supervisor will play a critical role in guaranteeing the consistent delivery of effective treatment plans tailored to address patients’ varied physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs. The supervisor will also oversee fiscal responsibilities to ensure expenditures remain within budget, demonstrating a sound understanding of resource management alongside clinical duties. Furthermore, this role necessitates collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and active involvement in the continuous improvement of counseling services.

The ideal candidate will hold a relevant professional license such as LMHC, CMHC, LPS, LCSW, CSW, or SSW in the state of Utah and will have substantial experience working with chemically dependent populations. A minimum of an Associate's Degree in Chemical Dependency Counseling or an equivalent credential from a regionally accredited institution is essential. The candidate must exhibit a positive, non-judgmental, and accepting attitude toward patients, underpinning the supportive and ethical framework of BAART Programs.

Job Qualifications

  • Must hold a LMHC, CMHC, LPS, LCSW, CSW, or SSW in the state of Utah

  • previous experience working with chemically dependent individuals

Job Duties

  • Assigns counselors' caseloads, amends when necessary
  • direct and supervise all intake operations
  • review intake assessment for quality
  • direct pre-admission decisions, case reviews and counseling meetings to ensure services are provided in accordance with policies, procedures and regulatory requirements
  • conduct quality assurance file reviews
  • ensure efficient and effective delivery of counseling services to all patients
  • maintain counseling caseload
  • provide direct supervision to clinicians as well as assist in the ongoing supervision of staff through meetings, in-service trainings, guest speakers and reviewing literature
  • ensures accurate and current clinical records are maintained in accordance with federal and state regulations governing NTP clinics
  • other related duties as determined by supervisor
