Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years’ experience in related field or BA in related field
- Valid California driver’s license
- Automobile in safe operating condition
- Automobile liability insurance
- Good driving record
- Criminal record clearance
- Proof of authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Good written and oral English communication skills
- Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries
- Ability to learn and apply social rehabilitation principles
- Ability to operate a motor vehicle
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as climbing stairs, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, lifting up to 25 pounds
- Ability to perform computer-based tasks
- Empathy and flexibility
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years’ experience in related field or BA in related field

- Ability to work as a team member and accept supervision
- Ability to maintain appropriate boundaries in interpersonal relationships
- Ability to learn and apply social rehabilitation principles
- Organizational and empathetic abilities
- Computer literacy including word processing and data entry
- Valid California driver’s license
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Knowledge of community resources (preferred)
Job Duties
- Conduct intake and interviews, assess suicidality, violence and substance abuse potential
- Remain aware of mood and tone of the house and respond accordingly
- Identify, assess and respond to crisis situations
- Provide informal supportive counseling and guidance to residents
- Document in staff log and residents’ progress notes, enter information into computer databases
- Assist residents with self-administration of medications and maintain medication records
- Assist and supervise residents with cooking, menu planning, shopping, housecleaning and yard maintenance, perform daily housecleaning and clerical duties
- Assist with supervising resident outings and recreational activities
- Participate in monthly staff meetings and collaborate on resident review and agency business
- Facilitate weekend chore meetings and house clean-up
- Lead weekly topic groups and plan weekend group activities
- Provide transportation to evening 12-step meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Director
