The Corrections Oversight Worker position at Aramark involves supervising inmates to ensure that meal and food items are prepared according to production plans and company standards. This role is critical in maintaining the quality and efficiency of food service operations within correctional facilities. The Corrections Oversight Worker is responsible for training inmates on proper food preparation methods, assigning and coordinating work tasks to promote operational efficiency, and ensuring that sanitation standards and safety regulations are met. The role requires careful monitoring of food preparation activities, timely and efficient meal service, and adherence to all security and safety protocols within the facility.

This position requires a keen eye for detail to review and approve production and temperature logs, ensuring compliance with Aramark's guidelines. The Corrections Oversight Worker also participates in the preparation and serving of meals, prints and distributes recipes, and directs inmates in the use of these recipes to ensure proper cooking procedures are followed. Special attention is given to ensuring that portion sizes and any special dietary requirements are consistently met.

Additionally, the worker is responsible for obtaining accurate daily population counts of inmates, managing kitchen tools and equipment, securing storage areas, and enforcing security policies at all times. The role involves preparing work schedules and sanitation schedules, supervising cooks, inmates, and food service workers, conducting inventory, and ensuring proper receiving and storage of food items. This position demands compliance with food handling standards, including HACCP policies and Aramark's Standard of Operation for food safety.

The Corrections Oversight Worker role may require physical activities such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended periods of walking or standing. The use of personal protective equipment and adherence to safety procedures are essential aspects of the job. Overall, this position is vital for maintaining the high standards of food service operations in a correctional environment while upholding stringent safety and security measures.

Job Requirements

  • Must be over 18 years of age
  • minimum of one (1) year of food prep or related work preferred
  • previous supervisory experience preferred
  • previous experience interacting with inmates a plus
  • ability to motivate and supervise inmates and/or team members to attain quality and quantity of food production in a correctional work environment
  • must be able to obtain a food safety certification
  • ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • ability to exercise good judgment and tact
  • must be able to follow basic safety procedures and policies
  • must qualify for and maintain correctional facility security clearance

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
