Aramark is a global leader in food service, facilities management, and uniform services, proudly serving millions of customers every day across 15 countries. Rooted in a strong culture of service and unified by a meaningful mission, Aramark aims to positively impact its employees, clients, communities, and the environment. The company is committed to providing equal employment opportunities and ensuring a diverse and inclusive workplace where everyone can thrive without discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, age, sex, gender, pregnancy, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, military status, protected veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. Aramark believes in fostering career growth, helping employees develop their skills, pursue their passions, and reach their full potential. Their working environment is designed to inspire a sense of belonging, offer new challenges, and provide a supportive culture where each person’s contributions are valued.
The role of Corrections Oversight Worker at Aramark plays a vital part in supporting the effective operation of food services in correctional facilities. This position primarily involves supervising inmates during food preparation to ensure meals and food items are produced according to established production plans and maintaining rigorous standards of safety, sanitation, and quality. The Corrections Oversight Worker is responsible for training and directing inmates in proper food preparation techniques and proper cooking procedures while ensuring recipe adherence and special dietary requirements are met. This position demands close collaboration with team members to maintain efficient meal service that aligns with Aramark’s operational guidelines and security protocols.
In this role, the worker manages inmate labor by assigning and coordinating work schedules to promote productivity and efficiency while sustaining compliance with correctional facility security measures. The position entails monitoring kitchen equipment and tools, ensuring their secure storage, and validating keys are returned and safeguarded appropriately. The Corrections Oversight Worker participates in crucial tasks such as conducting food inventories, requisitioning supplies, and participating in food preparation phases including Participation, Pulls, Production, Portion Control, and Postproduction activities. This role requires adherence to strict hygiene and food safety policies such as HACCP standards, emphasizing proper food handling and storage.
A key requirement for success in this role is the ability to exercise good judgment, provide motivation, and maintain a safe and secure environment under limited supervision. The role holds physical demands such as lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking or standing, and may require wearing uniforms and personal protective equipment (PPE) to comply with safety regulations. Correctional facility security clearance is mandatory and must be maintained throughout employment.
This position typically requires candidates to be at least 18 years old with preferred experience in food preparation or related fields and supervisory roles. While previous experience interacting with inmates is advantageous, the most critical skills include leadership, safety awareness, quality control, and the capacity to maintain composure and tact in the correctional work environment. Food safety certification is required, further emphasizing the importance of compliance with health and safety standards.
Working as a Corrections Oversight Worker at Aramark means becoming a key contributor to a team dedicated to delivering high-quality food services in challenging environments. The role offers opportunities for professional development within a supportive company committed to employee growth, inclusivity, and operational excellence. It is a fulfilling position for those who take pride in ensuring meal service efficiency, safety, and quality in a correctional setting, aligned with Aramark’s mission to serve responsible, sustainable, and people-focused solutions.
