Job Description
Central California Women's Facility (CCWF) is a state correctional institution dedicated to the rehabilitation and care of incarcerated women. Located in California, CCWF is a significant establishment within the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), providing a secure environment while focusing on health care, education, and vocational training for its inmates. The facility is committed to maintaining a safe, orderly, and humane atmosphere for both staff and incarcerated individuals. CCWF emphasizes compliance with state regulations and standards to serve the needs of its population effectively and responsibly.
CCWF is currently seeking a qualified Correctional Supervising Cook (CF) to join its dietary program on a part-time basis. This role falls under the direct guidance of the Food Administrator I/II or the supervision of the Supervising Correctional Cook within the facility. The Correctional Supervising Cook plays a crucial role in overseeing the kitchen operations specifically targeted towards preparing meals for patients within the correctional health care facility. This position requires supervising and training both staff members and incarcerated workers who are responsible for meal preparation, ensuring all meals comply with prescribed therapeutic diets ordered by physicians. The Correctional Supervising Cook ensures full adherence to numerous policies and regulations including Title 15, Department Operations Manual, California Code of Regulations Title 22, Standard Operational Procedures, Diet Manual, California Retail Food Code, and Food & Nutrition Services Manual.
A key responsibility of this position includes supervising kitchen sanitation and cleanliness, ensuring that all kitchen equipment and facilities meet health and safety standards. The Correctional Supervising Cook must maintain order and supervise the conduct of incarcerated workers to protect safety and property within the institution. This leadership role demands strong organizational skills, excellent supervisory experience, and a firm understanding of correctional facility protocols and nutrition standards.
The position offers a monthly salary range from USD 4,586 to USD 5,639, making it a competitive opportunity for professionals seeking meaningful work within correctional health care dietary services. The part-time job type allows for flexibility while contributing to the essential functions of the dietary department. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about food service management in a unique secure environment and who are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and regulatory compliance. CCWF prides itself on offering a supportive and structured workplace where the Correctional Supervising Cook can thrive and positively impact the institution's health care dietary operations.
