Job Requirements
- 18 years of age or older
- Completion of company orientation
- Food safety and sanitation training upon hire
- Ability to function in a fast-paced retail environment
- Ability to perform department-specific physical tasks such as reaching, grasping, standing, walking, bending, stooping, climbing stairs
- Ability to lift and manage weights up to 50-55 lbs and occasionally more
- Ability to comply with company policies and procedures
- Willingness to work flexible hours as required
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent
- Knowledge of computer systems and equipment such as PC, symbol, scales, label machine
- Strong customer service skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Reading and writing skills
- Planning and organizing skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Job Duties
- Provides superior customer service
- Takes orders from customers by telephone or in person
- Answers customer questions regarding products
- Assists with fresh product preparation, packaging, merchandising daily
- Slices, packages, labels, rotates, and culls products for quality
- Assists in technical tasks such as set-up and clean-up processes
- Uses suggestive selling techniques to meet customer needs and increase sales
- Cleans and sanitizes display cases
- Operates and maintains equipment properly
- Complies with food safety, sanitation, and store operating procedures
- Records production and shrink for bakery
- Assists in baking, frying, and decorating
- Takes care of deli service counter customers
- Uses ordering system applications and Fresh Production Planner
- Performs inventory management and prepares catering orders
- Performs sanitation and maintenance for deli slicers
- Serves and packages prepared foods
- Educates customers on preparation and reheating
- Prepackages condiments
- Prepares food for chef by cutting, slicing, dicing, chopping
