The company is rapidly expanding and seeking to hire a Corporate Tax Director specialized in the healthcare sector. This role offers a significant opportunity to develop industry-specific expertise while delivering tax advisory and compliance services to a wide range of clients from midmarket businesses to multinational corporations. Positioned as a key advisor, the Corporate Tax Director will contribute directly to the firm’s success by leading client relationships, mentoring team members, and collaborating with firm leadership.

This full-time position offers a competitive salary range between $228,000 and $305,490, reflecting the candidate’s qualifications, experience, credentials, location, and work arrangements. The Corporate Tax Director role involves being a trusted member of the engagement team, responsible for delivering federal tax compliance and consulting services tailored to healthcare clients. Key responsibilities include managing client relationships on tax matters, navigating complex technical issues in corporate and flow-through taxation, researching tax regulations, and responding to inquiries from IRS and other tax authorities. The role also requires coordination with specialty tax groups such as state and local taxation, high-net-worth, international tax, research and development, and credits and incentives to ensure comprehensive service delivery. The director will oversee engagement staffing, billing, collections, and client profitability while utilizing strong entrepreneurial skills to build internal and external relationships and contribute to firm growth.

Job Requirements

  • 4-year degree required
  • Twelve years of experience in tax compliance and consulting services
  • Five years of supervisory experience
  • CPA, law license, or enrolled agent certification required
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred

Job Qualifications

  • 4-year degree required
  • Master’s or advanced degree desirable
  • CPA, law license, or enrolled agent required
  • Twelve years of experience providing tax compliance and consulting services
  • Five years of supervisory experience, mentoring and counseling associates
  • Healthcare industry experience preferred, but not required
  • Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, communication skills
  • Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning, see the big picture as well as the details, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and timely completion of projects
  • Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills
  • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship preferred

Job Duties

  • Be a trusted member of the engagement team providing various federal tax compliance and consulting services to industry specific clients
  • Be a valued tax business advisor, lead client relationships on day to day tax matters with various clients ranging from middle market to multinational
  • Consult on technical matters and special projects in various areas of corporate and flow through taxation, accounting methods, and ASC740
  • Research various tax matters, respond to IRS and other tax authority inquiries, and make recommendations to the client for consideration
  • Coordinate with specialty tax practices on complicated tax matters in the state and local, high net worth, international, research and development along with credits and incentives areas
  • Manage client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met
  • Utilize entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with the goal of acquiring new clients, projects, and revenue
  • Invest in professional development individually and through participation in firm wide learning and development programs
  • Support the growth and development of team members through Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy, helping associates meet their professional goals
