Job Description
Selland Hospitality Group has been a prominent leader in the farm-to-fork movement for over 30 years, earning a distinguished reputation for quality and integrity in the culinary industry. With a portfolio spanning six diverse dining locations, from casual favorites to fine-dining establishments, this restaurant group is deeply committed to sustainable sourcing, exceptional guest experiences, and culinary excellence. At Selland Hospitality Group, the focus is on creating memorable meals and environments that celebrate local ingredients and innovative cooking techniques. The organization’s culture is rooted in five core pillars: teamwork, hospitality, excellence, pride, and positive impact, ensuring every team member and guest experiences an environment of collaboration, respect, and high standards.
The role on offer is for a hands-on, "kitchens-first" culinary leader to oversee the culinary programs and food quality across all six Selland Hospitality Group locations. This leadership position goes beyond administrative duties; it requires an individual who thrives in the dynamic environment of a professional kitchen and brings a passion for mentoring and developing culinary talent while maintaining the integrity of each restaurant's unique brand identity. The successful candidate will lead and inspire Executive Chefs and senior culinary leaders, working closely with them to enhance skill levels across all kitchens. Responsibilities include managing the rollout of seasonal menu changes and holiday catering, ensuring flawless execution with a focus on guest experience and food quality.
In this role, the culinary leader will standardize quality by creating "Picture Perfect" training tools and standardized recipes to be used across all entities, safeguarding the consistency customers expect. This position demands operational integrity by collaborating with Operations Leadership to manage food costs and labor budgets effectively while ensuring complete compliance with health codes and safety protocols. The role requires a calm and composed approach in fast-paced, high-volume settings and a deep technical knowledge of kitchen equipment and best practices, backed by current ServSafe certification.
Selland Hospitality Group values leaders who are adaptable and flexible, ready to step into the kitchen to support along with the team during service hours. The right candidate must have a minimum of 10 years of culinary leadership experience, including multi-unit management in both casual upscale and fine-dining environments, demonstrating a track record of maintaining standards and fostering growth in diverse culinary teams. This hands-on leadership role is essential to preserving and elevating the culinary reputation of Selland Hospitality Group while also supporting the team’s professional development and well-being. It is an opportunity to join a respected organization that values its team members, promotes from within, and celebrates achievements, all while making a lasting impact on the vibrant Sacramento culinary scene.
