Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 3 years of full-time event management experience with corporate focus
- Residency in NYC tri-state area
- Ability to work hybrid with minimum 4 days in New York City office
- Willingness to travel up to 20% annually for site visits and event management
- Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and extended hours during event seasons
- Ability to lift materials/objects up to 30 lbs
- Exposure to both in-person and hybrid events
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in relevant field
- Minimum of 3 years full-time corporate event management experience
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Experience with contract negotiation
- Skilled in budget management and financial oversight
- Ability to manage in-person and hybrid events
- Experience with meeting management software such as Cvent is a plus
- Creativity and innovation in event planning
- Strong presentation, negotiation and interpersonal communication skills
Job Duties
- Lead the planning of assigned meetings and events by establishing vision and managing ideation, planning and execution in collaboration with stakeholders
- Identify, research and secure meeting venues through site inspections and contract negotiations
- Develop and manage event budgets, track expenses, process vendor invoices and perform post-event budget reconciliation
- Manage comprehensive event services including venue operations, timelines, attendee communications, registration, accommodations, transportation, catering, décor, speaker and sponsor liaison, audio-visual and production, branding, mobile apps, off-site activities, shipping and on-site supervision
- Establish and maintain relationships with hotels, restaurants and third-party providers while staying informed of market developments
- Gather attendee feedback, analyze event metrics and prepare post-event reports to improve future events
- Support department head with optimizing event planning process, budget standardization, expense control, event technology leverage, event success analysis and attendee experience enhancement
