The Corporate Event Planner - Learning Programs role at Protiviti, based in Chicago, offers a dynamic opportunity for a dedicated professional to plan and execute engaging learning experiences that support employee development. Reporting to the Global Learning & Development team, this role is essential in managing logistics and delivery for Protiviti's Milestone Learning Portfolio, catering to career development from interns to executive leadership. This position requires a hybrid work presence, with regular in-person office attendance combined with flexible remote work. The planner will coordinate with various internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure seamless pre-event, event, and post-event execution for both in-person and live virtual training sessions.
The event planner will be responsible for designing impactful training programs within budget, negotiating contracts, sourcing venues, managing supplies, and acting as the on-site liaison for event execution. Additionally, the role includes supporting learning centers, organizing classrooms, managing catering needs, and ensuring all aspects of events align with Protiviti's standards for excellence. The planner will also analyze event outcomes and recommend improvements to continually enhance the learning experience. This position requires travel up to 40-50% globally, with occasional extended hours to accommodate international time zones. Salary ranges from $73,000 to $110,000 annually with bonus opportunities and comprehensive benefits. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree
- Minimum 5 years of event management experience
- Experience in learning and development, HR, or business operations preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 applications
- Strong communication skills
- Availability to travel 40-50%
- Ability to work some outside business hours
- Must be able to work in a hybrid model including in-person presence at Chicago office
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong organizational and negotiation skills
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- 5+ years of event management experience
- Previous experience in learning and development, HR, or business operations preferred
- Strong analytical and administrative skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 including Teams, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate across multifunctional teams

Job Duties
- Design, plan, and deliver high-impact learning experiences for in-person and virtual programs within budget
- Manage all pre-event, event, and post-event logistics with program leaders, meeting planners, vendors, participants, facilitators, and executive leaders
- Lead event planning by reviewing contracts, sourcing offsite venues, negotiating terms, and assessing quality
- Execute event preparation including creating name tags, organizing supplies, updating and emailing materials, and managing onsite vendor support including AV needs
- Support learning centers and offices by managing shipping, building access, classroom setup, supply orders, catering arrangements, and maintaining organized spaces
- Monitor and evaluate event performance to meet learning objectives and recommend improvements
- Establish and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders
- Stay updated on event and learning best practices and trends
- Travel up to 40-50% globally
- Occasionally work outside typical business hours to accommodate multiple time zones
