The Corporate Director of Revenue Management is a pivotal role within this esteemed hotel portfolio, tasked with the strategic oversight and enhancement of total room revenue. This position demands a seasoned professional who can deftly lead and mentor Revenue Managers and Area Directors, while also directly managing revenue management operations for one or more properties when necessary. The role is hybrid, based in LA, NY, or Austin, and requires frequent communication and collaboration with General Managers, Directors of Sales, and other key leadership to align revenue strategies with broader business goals.

Key responsibilities include the development and implementation of pricing strategies, inventory controls, and demand management practices designed to capture the most profitable mix of business and maximize overall hotel revenue. The Corporate Director of Revenue Management also oversees the Central Reservations Department, ensuring it provides excellent customer service and efficient reservation processes. Analytical skills are crucial, as the role involves evaluating market trends, reservation data, and operational performance to inform decisions that optimize staffing and departmental workflow.

A successful candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to resolve conflicts and provide clear guidance based on data-driven insights. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • At least five years experience as a Corporate, Regional or Area Director of Revenue or relevant position within a reputable hotel group
  • At least five years experience managing multiple employees
  • Must be in market and able to work a hybrid schedule out of either LA, NY, or Austin
  • Strong ability in using MS Office (Excel, in particular) and Outlook
  • Detailed knowledge of GDS, CRS, and OTA platforms
  • Working knowledge of basic AI tools
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts, calculate and analyze trends and pace
  • Ability to provide clear and concise data, analysis, instruction and guidance to both internal and external audiences as appropriate
  • Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the portfolio
  • Knowledgeable in hotel and guest room facilities/services
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English language
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Must be able to travel approximately one week at a time, one to three times per quarter
  • Ability to multitask

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement pricing strategies across multiple markets to maximize RevPAR, ADR and total revenue performance
  • Monitor and analyze market trends, customer behavior, and comp set pricing to adjust portfolio pricing accordingly
  • Communicate pricing strategies and forecasted changes to ownership, asset managers and other key stakeholders
  • Maximize overall room revenue on a daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual basis and direct yield strategies to achieve or exceed budgeted room revenues and market share goals
  • Optimize channel mix and distribution strategies to ensure profitable revenue growth
  • Collaborate with Marketing and Sales leaders on room revenue and occupancy forecasts for operational departments
  • Work with hotel sales teams on quarterly and annual goals and review Sales Incentive Plans (SIPs) for approval
  • Prepare and analyze daily, weekly and monthly segmentation pace reports and set selling strategies based on pace and market conditions
  • Assist in creating the Rooms Revenue Budget and Market penetration goals annually
  • Review and analyze current software and systems and provide recommendations for improvements
  • Establish and maintain good communications and teamwork with colleagues and other departments within the hotels
  • Recruit, interview, select, train, guide, manage and schedule personnel
  • Oversee monitoring and developing employee performance including conducting counseling, evaluations, setting goals and delivering recognition
  • Manage the Reservation Department staff, ensuring proper selling strategies and adherence to standard operating procedures
  • Prepare agenda and lead weekly Revenue Management Strategy meetings, including critiques, tracking, competitive analysis and planning future strategies
  • Attend meetings pertaining to hotels within the portfolio
  • Manage vendor/system relationships and agreements
  • Ensure staff understand job expectations and hold them accountable
  • Adhere to all operations standards, policies, procedures, and verbal instructions
  • Maintain open communication with employees
  • Maintain employee file documentation
  • Maintain professionalism in demeanor
  • Be familiar with all safety and emergency procedures including OSHA requirements
