The Communications Coordinator position at Atlas Air Worldwide plays a critical role in supporting the Communications team to achieve annual goals centered on cultivating company culture, enhancing employee engagement, and aligning with corporate strategy. This role involves managing both internal and external communications through various channels, including digital media, traditional outlets, and the company's internal platform called InsideAtlas powered by Workvivo. Responsibilities include creating and distributing communications such as company announcements, press releases, intranet articles, and maintaining website content to ensure timely updates and technical functionality.
The coordinator will also handle the planning and logistical support for corporate meetings and events, like the annual Leadership Meeting and Town Halls, collaborating with departments such as IT and Facilities to ensure smooth execution. Furthermore, the role includes supporting social media efforts alongside the Marketing team by helping craft external-facing posts across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube. The use of AI-enabled tools to aid content development, editing, and communications planning is encouraged to enhance efficiency and accuracy while maintaining brand consistency and compliance with company policies.
This role demands strong project management skills, keen attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication abilities, and a professional demeanor in interactions with senior leadership and external vendors. Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Advertising or related field
- 2+ years professional experience in Communications or related field

- Experience with MS Office including Word and PowerPoint
- Familiarity with Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, WordPress, Workvivo or similar platforms
- Ability to maintain ethics, confidentiality, and professionalism
- Independent thinker with ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Experience supervising vendors such as graphic design firms, printers, and audio/visual companies
- Professional and positive attitude in client interactions
Job Duties
- Support preparation, drafting, editing and distribution of communications including company emails, announcements, press releases, intranet posts and articles
- Provide coordination and administrative support for Corporate Communications initiatives
- Track projects, deliverables, communications plans and executive priorities
- Follow up on assigned tasks proactively
- Complete tasks timely and accurately
- Assist with planning and logistics for corporate meetings and events
- Manage internal communications calendar and support message development
