Job Description
Gaia is a publicly traded company based in Louisville, Colorado, renowned for its commitment to empowering a global conscious community through its unique video streaming platform. With a vast library featuring over 8,000 original series, documentaries, films, and shows, Gaia’s content spans niches including Seeking Truth, Transformation, Alternative Health, and Yoga. This progressive company is dedicated not only to providing thoughtful and in-depth content but also to fostering an inclusive and dynamic work environment centered around its mission to empower the evolution of consciousness. Gaia's office campus is an inspiring place boasting sustainable, solar-powered buildings, surrounded by hiking and running trails, a community garden, and even a labyrinth. This holistic approach to wellness extends to their on-site café, where staff and visitors can enjoy mostly organic meals made from local ingredients, alongside a full-service espresso bar featuring locally roasted coffee.
The Corporate Cafe Front of House (FOH) Barista position at Gaia offers a distinctive opportunity to work within this vibrant setting and be a vital part of the day-to-day operations of the campus café. This is a full-time, regular position with work hours primarily between 7 am and 3 pm, Monday through Friday, making it ideal for those who appreciate traditional business hours and a friendly, steady customer base. Working as a FOH Barista at Gaia means you’re not just serving food and beverages; you’re contributing to a positive, community-centered atmosphere where guests come to enjoy good food, quality drink, and each other's company in a tranquil environment.
Key to success in this role are exemplary soft skills. Gaia places significant value on interpersonal abilities such as effective communication, teamwork, prioritization, and problem-solving. Employees must be adaptable to change, able to manage conflicts with empathy, and capable of thriving in a collaborative environment. Technical skills, including cash handling and barista proficiency, are important, but the emphasis on building positive relationships and a supportive culture is what truly defines this position. This role demands enthusiasm, dependability, flexibility, and a genuine passion for organic, local, and sustainable food. Experience in fast-paced environments, attention to detail, and a commitment to excellent customer service are essential.
The work environment involves operating primarily from the front-of-house barista station within the café, occasionally supporting kitchen tasks involving hot food items and various equipment. Staff are expected to manage repetitive motions and maintain safety standards in a lively setting. The compensation for this hourly position ranges from $18 to $21 USD, reflecting Gaia’s recognition of the essential contributions made by its café team members.
Overall, this position offers a unique blend of community engagement, sustainable values, and professional growth within a company that prioritizes consciousness, transformation, and holistic well-being. Prospective candidates should be excited not just about the role itself, but about contributing to a greater mission that impacts thousands globally.
