The Corporate Concierge Security Officer (CCSO) position at Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is a full-time, dynamic role responsible for creating and maintaining a safe, secure, and hospitable environment at Goodwill's corporate locations. This essential role is focused on protecting employees, customers, program participants, and visitors by ensuring the safety of people, property, and assets. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in security or related fields preferred
- Ability to perform regular patrols and physical activities
- Availability to work full-time shifts including possible evenings, weekends, or holidays
- Strong observational and problem-solving skills
- Ability to respond calmly to emergency situations
- Effective communication skills
- Basic knowledge of security technologies
- Valid state driver’s license preferred but not required
- Basic first aid training preferred
- Ability to pass background checks and drug screening
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or related fields preferred
- Knowledge of security procedures and protocols
- Ability to operate security equipment such as radios, CCTV, and access control systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and make sound judgments in emergencies
- Basic first aid and CPR certification preferred
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to upholding ethical standards and professionalism
- Familiarity with CARE-based communication and conflict de-escalation techniques
Job Duties
- Conduct regular, documented patrols primarily on foot to deter criminal activity and identify safety or security risks
- Inspect buildings, grounds, doors, and secured areas for signs of forced entry, vandalism, fire hazards, or unsafe conditions
- Maintain situational awareness and respond to irregularities with calm, sound judgment
- Monitor and control access points to ensure only authorized individuals enter secured areas
- Verify identification, issue visitor badges, and enforce access control procedures
- Address unauthorized access in a calm, respectful, and professional manner, escalating concerns when necessary
- Monitor CCTV systems, alarms, and other electronic security systems to detect suspicious or unsafe activity
- Respond appropriately to alarms and system alerts in accordance with established procedures
- Report equipment issues or system malfunctions promptly
- Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents, emergencies, and safety concerns
- Assess situations, take appropriate action, and coordinate with internal stakeholders and external responders such as law enforcement, fire, EMS as needed
- Apply CARE-based decision-making to manage incidents, reduce escalation, and support safe resolution
- Assist with evacuations, lockdowns, and other emergency procedures when required
- Accurately document incidents, observations, and daily activities in written reports
- Prepare clear, timely, and objective incident reports suitable for leadership review
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and factual accuracy in all documentation
- Interact with employees, customers, program participants, and visitors in a courteous, respectful, and service-oriented manner
- Provide assistance, directions, and information while maintaining security awareness
- Use CARE-based communication techniques to de-escalate situations when possible and foster positive, respectful interactions
- Conduct routine safety checks of doors, windows, and equipment
- Identify and report hazards, maintenance issues, or unsafe behaviors
- Actively deter theft, vandalism, and policy violations through visible presence, awareness, and appropriate engagement
- Operate assigned security equipment, including radios, access control systems, cameras, and other tools
- Use equipment safely, responsibly, and in accordance with training and policy
- Maintain accountability for issued equipment
- Provide basic first aid, CPR, or emergency assistance within the scope of training until advanced medical care arrives
- Respond with calm, compassion, and professionalism during medical or welfare-related incidents
- Enforce Goodwill security policies, procedures, and site-specific post orders consistently and fairly
- Remain knowledgeable of applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices related to security operations
- Perform all duties with integrity, respect, and adherence to CARE-based standards of conduct
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support safety, security, and organizational operations
