Job Description
Sweetgreen is a prominent national restaurant brand committed to promoting healthier communities by connecting people to real, fresh food. Established in 2007, Sweetgreen revolutionized fast food by emphasizing fresh, flavorful meals deeply rooted in relationships with farmers and local communities. This innovative company is not just about food; it is about fostering meaningful relationships and purpose-driven spaces where food and people come together. As Sweetgreen grows, it remains dedicated to nurturing its workforce by offering development opportunities across its restaurants and corporate support centers, allowing everyone at Sweetgreen to contribute to the mission of reshaping fast food. The company embraces diversity and inclusion, providing equal opportunities regardless of gender, race, age, disability, or military status. Additionally, Sweetgreen participates in the federal E-Verify program to ensure compliance with employment eligibility requirements.
The Team Member role at Sweetgreen is vital to delivering an exceptional guest experience and upholding the brand's commitment to quality and hospitality. This is not simply a job in a restaurant; it is an opportunity to be part of a movement that connects people with real food in a fresh, fast, and thoughtfully made environment. Team Members at Sweetgreen engage in a variety of tasks including prepping ingredients, assembling orders, managing stations, and warmly welcoming guests to create positive, lasting interactions. The fast-paced, team-oriented atmosphere demands reliability, attention to detail, and a passion for great food and service. Furthermore, Sweetgreen offers clear pathways for advancement, as top-performing Team Members can progress to leadership and General Manager positions within three years, making this role an excellent stepping-stone for career growth.
Team Members play a central role in ensuring food safety, sanitation, and allergen protocols are strictly followed, maintaining the high standards that Sweetgreen guests expect. They work collaboratively with fellow team members to balance food preparation, service flow, and restocking, especially during busy periods, demonstrating not only technical skills but also effective teamwork and communication. This position also requires physical endurance and mobility, including tasks such as lifting, bending, reaching, standing, and squatting throughout shifts. Sweetgreen values energy, accountability, and a team-first mindset, encouraging employees to learn new skills and grow across multiple stations. The employment type accommodates both part-time and full-time positions provided the minimum availability of 12 hours per week, making it flexible for various schedules.
Sweetgreen offers an attractive compensation package combined with meaningful benefits. Team Members receive competitive wages, opportunities to earn tips depending on location and role, and enjoy perks such as free meals during every shift. Health benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance are available for both part-time and full-time employees who meet eligibility criteria. Additional benefits include paid vacation, wellness time, parental leave, and a 401(k) savings plan. Moreover, offering fun and engaging team member merchandise provides a unique sense of community and belonging. Overall, the Sweetgreen Team Member role is ideal for individuals passionate about food, hospitality, and career development within a supportive and inclusive workplace.
