Job Description
Sweetgreen is a dynamic national restaurant brand known for its commitment to building healthier communities by connecting people to real food. Founded in 2007, Sweetgreen has pioneered the concept of fresh, flavorful fast food by forging meaningful relationships with farmers and the communities they serve. The company prides itself on delivering an exceptional dining experience that emphasizes not only food quality but also hospitality and service excellence. With a focus on sustainability and nourishing meals, Sweetgreen is more than just a restaurant – it’s a movement that encourages healthy eating and lifestyle choices. The organization is dedicated to fostering a diverse and inclusive work environment, promoting equal opportunities for all employees and applicants across all races, genders, identities, orientations, and backgrounds. Sweetgreen’s culture cultivates growth and learning, aiming to empower employees at every level to excel and thrive within the company. Additionally, the company is part of federal programs such as E-Verify to ensure lawful employment and encourages accommodations to support employees' needs.
As a Sweetgreen Team Member, you become an essential part of this transformative mission. This position goes beyond traditional restaurant roles by placing you at the heart of a shift in the food industry — connecting guests to fresh and thoughtfully prepared meals. The Team Member role involves preparing ingredients, assembling orders, and engaging warmly with guests to create memorable dining experiences. Working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, Team Members maintain stations that are clean, well-stocked, and organized to support efficient service flow. This role demands attention to detail, energy, and a passion for food and hospitality. Team Members are expected to uphold stringent food safety, sanitation, and allergen protocols, ensuring guest safety and trust. Sweetgreen encourages team players who bring accountability and a positive mindset every shift while embracing opportunities to develop a variety of skills across multiple stations.
Joining Sweetgreen as a team member offers valuable career development paths designed to foster upward mobility. High-performing individuals have the opportunity to advance to shift leader and manager roles within a few years, providing long-term career growth within an evolving and supportive company. Compensation includes competitive wages, tips (where applicable), and a variety of benefits to support health and wellness, such as medical, dental, and vision insurance for both part-time and full-time employees. Additional perks include paid vacation, parental leave, free meals during shifts, and access to a 401(k) savings plan for eligible team members. Sweetgreen also offers a unique Team Member Merch Shop where employees can earn and purchase custom branded gear, fostering a sense of community and employee pride.
This role requires strong physical capabilities, including the ability to lift and handle various weights, stand and walk for extended periods, and perform tasks involving bending, reaching, squatting, pulling, and coordination. Candidates must be at least 18 years old and authorized to work in the United States with a commitment to reliability and quality in every aspect of their work. If you are passionate about food, hospitality, and want to contribute to a healthier future along with a supportive team, Sweetgreen is an ideal place to grow your career and make an impact.
