As a Sweetgreen Team Member, you play a vital role in bringing the company’s mission to life by delivering exceptional hospitality and supporting smooth restaurant operations. Your responsibilities will include everything from greeting customers with warmth and sharing detailed menu knowledge to preparing fresh food ingredients and maintaining cleanliness standards. Team members collaborate closely with colleagues to build salads quickly and accurately, ensuring excellent portion control and presentation that meets Sweetgreen’s high-quality standards. The role requires a combination of food preparation skills, customer service excellence, and operational support. Job Requirements

  • must be available to work a minimum of 12 hours per week
  • lifting routinely handling items up to 5-25 lbs and occasionally handling items 40-50 lbs
  • bending for accessing low areas and handling items
  • reaching for accessing high areas and handling items including building salads and restocking ingredients
  • squatting for accessing low areas and handling items
  • pulling managing tasks that require pulling items or equipment
  • manual dexterity typing, interacting with systems, handling tools including knives, thermometers, POS systems and managing cleaning tools
  • physical mobility navigating stairs, doors, ramps, elevators, and using equipment
  • repetitive motions frequent tasks like typing, cleaning, chopping, assembling and mixing
  • physical endurance maintaining energy and efficiency through long shifts and peak periods
  • coordination balance, multitasking and handling bulky items or equipment in tight spaces
  • must be 18 years of age or older
  • must be authorized to work in the United States
  • standing and walking extended periods including moving between areas

Job Duties

  • deliver exceptional hospitality while supporting smooth restaurant operations
  • greet customers and share menu knowledge
  • prepare food including portioning, mixing, squeezing, chopping, and prepping ingredients
  • build salads quickly and accurately with correct portions and presentation
  • maintain a clean and organized workspace adhering to food safety and hygiene standards
  • safely operate kitchen tools and equipment including knives, robot coupe, blenders, thermometers, dish machines, and POS systems
  • restock and rotate ingredients and supplies during service and prep shifts
  • use clear verbal cues for team communication to ensure coordination and safety
  • follow prep guides and recipe cards to ensure order accuracy and handle allergens properly
  • efficiently manage prep, service, and cleaning responsibilities especially during peak hours
