Job Description
This job opportunity is presented by an independently owned and operated McDonald’s franchise, which operates under a license to use McDonald’s logos and food products but functions as a separate entity from McDonald’s USA. This independent franchisee is responsible for all employment-related matters at their restaurant, including hiring, firing, discipline, supervision, staffing, and scheduling. McDonald’s USA has no authority or involvement in these employment decisions, making the franchisee your direct employer if hired for this position.
Working at this McDonald’s franchise means you’re joining a company that values growth, opportunity, and creating a positive work environment. The franchise prides itself on offering a dynamic, fast-paced setting where employees can develop their skills, pursue educational goals, and advance their careers. The franchise encourages a culture of energy and purpose where team members are passionate about delivering excellent customer service and contributing to a business that serves delicious food and creates feel-good moments for customers.
The role being offered is a Department Manager position within the restaurant. Department Managers play a crucial role in leading shifts and ensuring customers have a fast, accurate, and friendly experience each visit. Depending on the department they lead, managers have specific responsibilities ranging from overseeing the Guest Service team, Kitchen operations, to People management. Guest Service Department Managers focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences, ensuring sales promotions are effectively executed, and organizing service areas like the Front Counter, McCafé, and Drive-Thru for optimal performance. Kitchen Department Managers ensure that the kitchen produces high-quality food swiftly while maintaining food safety standards and controlling food costs. They also train kitchen staff on cooking procedures and new menu items. People Department Managers handle recruitment, training, scheduling, and motivating crew members, ensuring the team meets sales and profit goals and that employees feel recognized and supported.
This position is ideal for those with previous managerial experience, preferably in restaurant, retail, or hospitality environments. The franchise is looking for positive, flexible team players who thrive in energetic, fast-paced workplaces and enjoy working with others to achieve common goals. Candidates must be at least 18 years old to qualify for a managerial position within these corporate-owned and operated restaurants.
In addition to competitive pay, this Department Manager role comes with a comprehensive benefits package. Employees receive paid vacation after one year of service, education support through the Archways to Opportunity program which includes opportunities to earn a High School degree, college tuition assistance, and English language classes. Medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage are provided along with short- and long-term disability insurance, life and accident coverage, service awards to recognize achievements, an Employee Resource Connection for support, and adoption assistance.
This position offers an excellent chance to join a respected restaurant brand with an environment that supports career growth, education advancement, and personal development. Candidates who are passionate about leadership, customer service, and team building will find this role especially rewarding. By applying, you recognize that you are applying to work for the franchisee and not McDonald’s USA, and all employment matters will be handled directly by the franchisee. This independence allows for more localized management and personalized support for team members while providing the benefits of working with an established and well-known brand.
