As part of the larger Marriott International family, Gaylord Hotels brings together diverse, creative, and entrepreneurial individuals who are passionate about delivering heartfelt and thoughtful service to guests. Located at 6700 N Gaylord Rockies Blvd, Aurora, Colorado, the property offers a stimulating environment where associates, termed STARs, engage in limitless career opportunities beyond traditional hotel roles. The brand promotes an inclusive workplace that values diversity, supports professional growth, and fosters a strong community of teamwork and motivation.
The Bar Tender position at Gaylord Hotels is a full-time, non-management role that invites individuals passionate about beverage crafting and guest interaction to join an engaging and dynamic team. This hourly position offers compensation at $14.70 per hour with eligibility for tips and service charge benefits, supplemented by training and PTO paid at $15.16 per hour. Employees in this role are expected to have open availability, as flexibility in scheduling contributes significantly to team and guest satisfaction. The central responsibility revolves around delivering an exceptional bar experience, where creating a welcoming, energetic atmosphere becomes fundamental to encouraging guests to relax and enjoy their time.
As a Bar Tender, you will serve as an expert in cocktail preparation, attentively following the latest beverage trends and seasonal inspiration to craft diverse and enticing drink menus. Your role integrates social skills and authenticity, enabling you to engage guests in warm conversation, offer helpful suggestions, and personalize their visit. Responsibilities include greeting guests warmly, serving drinks such as wine and champagne properly, preparing decorative touches for beverage presentation, and ensuring the bar area is consistently organized and clean.
Additionally, the position entails operational duties such as replenishing essential supplies like ice, glassware, and paper items, managing all payment transactions accurately, and completing cashier reports. Successful candidates will exhibit excellent storytelling abilities, a positive attitude, and an extroverted personality that complements the lively environment of the bar. Prior bartending experience is highly advantageous but not mandatory. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds and the stamina to stand, sit, or walk for protracted periods while maintaining a professional appearance through clean uniform attire.
Gaylord Hotels offers more than just employment; it provides avenues for personal and professional growth through learning and development programs, wellness initiatives, and recognition schemes that celebrate achievements within a motivating management framework. Employees receive valuable discounts on hotel rooms, gift shop items, and food and beverage offerings, creating a supportive environment that nurtures work-life balance and career fulfillment. Joining Gaylord means becoming part of a global, diverse community and an incredible team that cherishes innovation, dedication, and heartfelt service, ensuring every day presents a new discovery and opportunity.
