Job Description

Gaylord Rockies Resort & Convention Center is a premier hotel and conference destination located in Aurora, Colorado. As part of Marriott International, one of the world leaders in the hospitality industry, Gaylord Hotels offer more than traditional hotel experiences. With a commitment to delivering environments, services, and programming that bring people together in extraordinary ways, the resort provides guests unmatched comfort, convenience, and memorable experiences. Gaylord Rockies embodies the spirit of Marriott's dedication to creativity, entrepreneurship, and heartfelt guest service. Their employees, known as STARs, uphold these values by offering exceptional service and creating a welcoming atmosphere that emphasizes both guest satisfaction and employee growth opportunities.

The resort is currently seeking a dedicated and motivated Bartender to join their Food and Beverage & Culinary team. This full-time, non-management position offers a competitive hourly wage of $14.70 with additional tip and service charge eligibility. Open availability is preferred, and candidates with prior bartending experience are encouraged to apply.

As a Bartender at Gaylord Rockies, you will play a vital role in enhancing the guests' experience by preparing drink orders according to specified recipes and maintaining the cleanliness and readiness of the bar area. Your responsibilities will include issuing, opening, and serving wine and champagne bottles, preparing fresh garnishes, restocking supplies such as ice, glassware, and paper goods, and ensuring all bar tools and stations are clean and functional throughout your shift.

Additionally, the role involves processing various payment methods accurately, balancing the cash bank at the end of the shift, and securing all financial and liquor assets. Bartenders at Gaylord Rockies also complete closing duties such as cleaning, securing inventory, and preparing for the next shift.

The position requires compliance with all company safety and security policies, including reporting any incidents or unsafe conditions promptly. Maintaining a professional appearance and confidentiality regarding proprietary information is also essential.

Excellent guest service is a hallmark of this role, as you will welcome and acknowledge guests according to company standards, anticipate their service needs, and thank them with genuine appreciation. Effective communication skills are vital to interact with guests and team members professionally and clearly.

This role is physically demanding, requiring the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods, move and lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds, and navigate various work environments, including confined spaces and uneven surfaces. The Bartender is expected to work collaboratively with team members to achieve common goals and maintain a positive workplace culture.

Candidates should possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent and have a minimum of one year’s related work experience. Although supervisory experience and licensing are not required, a passion for hospitality and learning is essential.

By joining Gaylord Rockies and Marriott International, you will become part of a diverse global team committed to equal opportunity and inclusion. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package aimed at supporting your well-being and career development. At Gaylord Rockies, you will find not just a job but an opportunity to belong, begin your purpose, and become the best version of yourself while making meaningful contributions to guest experiences.
