This position is for a Copy - Bar Beverage Assistant at the Orange County Convention Center. It is an on-call part-time job offering a pay rate of $18.50 per hour. The role requires flexibility with varying shifts and open availability is preferred. Additional details regarding workdays and hours will be provided during the interview process. As a Bar Beverage Assistant, you will support the bartender by performing various tasks and responsibilities that are essential to the smooth operation of the bar. These responsibilities may vary depending on the business needs and client requirements specific to each account.

Key duties include maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the bar area, washing glassware to ensure an adequate supply for serving customers, preparing fresh garnishes for drinks following the First-in, First-out (FIFO) system, restocking supplies, anticipating replenishment needs, and ensuring compliance with health code standards in storage and refrigeration areas. The job also demands physical endurance including walking or standing for long periods, sometimes exceeding eight hours during a shift, and frequently lifting items up to 35 pounds, with occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 0 to 1 year of relevant experience
  • Must meet minimum age requirements for serving alcohol or working as a bartender per local and state laws

Job Duties

  • Maintain cleanliness and condition of the bar, bar furniture, tables, and tools
  • Collect empty glasses from the bar and wash glassware as needed to ensure adequate supply for serving customers
  • Prepare fresh garnishes for drinks using the First-in, First-out (FIFO) system
  • Restock the bar or designated station with supplies and transport them to the bar area
  • Anticipate and communicate restocking needs
  • Maintain cleanliness of bar area, beer drawers, and storage and refrigeration areas to comply with health code standards
  • Walk or move frequently around the work area
