LA28 is the official independent, non-profit, and privately funded organizing committee responsible for planning and executing the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Coordinator, Transportation role at LA28 is essential in supporting the planning, implementation, and delivery of stakeholder transportation services. This includes facilitating transportation access and smooth logistics for a wide array of Olympic and Paralympic stakeholders, aligning with LA28's obligations set forth by the International Olympic Committee. The role is based in Los Angeles and requires in-person attendance with frequent travel within the city to various public agencies, venues, and relevant sites. The position offers an hourly wage range of $27.40 to $33.65, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
The ideal candidate for this role will possess both technical knowledge of transportation operations and exceptional communication skills to engage effectively with diverse stakeholder groups. Responsibilities will include supporting the formulation of transportation agreements, contributing to the development and refinement of the Games Mobility and Transportation Plan, managing schedules and organizing meetings, and preparing detailed reports and presentations. Additionally, the coordinator will assist in creating public-facing communication materials to facilitate community outreach related to Games transportation.
Important technical skills for this role include familiarity with GIS and data visualization tools for analyzing transportation data and generating insights to optimize operations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with ArcGIS or similar mapping software are highly valued. The ability to work both independently and collaboratively, coupled with a high degree of professionalism and discretion in handling confidential information, is critical.
Candidates are expected to bring a background in transportation planning, urban planning, or related fields, with preferred experience involving public transportation agencies or government projects. Project management and strategic thinking capabilities are essential, alongside strong verbal and written communication skills tailored to both technical and non-technical audiences. Job Duties
- Support the development of transportation-related agreements with Games stakeholders and public agencies
- assist in developing, editing and refining the Games Mobility and Transportation Plan
- support the design and creation of key transportation deliverables to be circulated publicly
- manage schedules and organize internal and external meetings, conference calls, and events, ensuring that all logistics are planned and executed seamlessly
- assist in monitoring overall Games transportation milestones and deliverables, as well as assist in providing progress reports and updates to functional area leadership and/or Games Mobility Executives
- provide technical assistance for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting transportation data to optimize logistics operations, improve efficiency, and support strategic decision-making
- prepare meeting materials, agendas, minutes, and presentation decks
- assist in developing, editing, and refining communications materials prepared for or in support of community outreach and engagement activities related to Games transportation
