Job Description

FIFA World Cup 26™, an unprecedented edition of the greatest sporting event globally, is fast approaching. The 2026 FIFA World Cup™ will be the first to welcome 48 teams and will be hosted across three countries: Canada, Mexico, and the United States. This new tournament format is set to redefine global sports excellence, creating unique opportunities for broader participation and engagement from players and fans across North America and worldwide. At FIFA26, the vision is to unite the world through this extraordinary and memorable football tournament, delivering a sporting experience unlike any other.

FIFA26 is the organization responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of this massive multinational sporting event. It is committed to fostering inclusivity, innovation, leadership, and strategic excellence while maintaining a strong focus on operational and functional discipline through its workforce. The organization promotes key values such as accountability, decision-making, initiative, and a global vision that underpins its success in hosting a mega-event on this scale.

Within this vibrant landscape, the role of the Coordinator, Transport Client Services Referees, based in Miami, is pivotal. This permanent full-time onsite position plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient transportation operations supporting the referee team during FIFA World Cup 26™. The Coordinator is responsible for managing and leading transport services dedicated to referees, including overseeing a team of Senior Coordinators and Coordinators to ensure full daily coverage, clear tasking, and readiness.

The Coordinator’s scope extends to supporting referee-dedicated vehicles and their drivers, managing briefing schedules, vehicle preparation, compliance checks, issue resolution, and maintaining a constant line-of-sight on daily movements. This role includes strategically managing transport operations at the training sites and Referees Base Camp Hotel (RBCH), including vehicle flow, parking coordination for various client groups, and the upkeep of signage and infrastructure to guarantee seamless service delivery.

Importantly, the Coordinator acts as a key liaison with multiple stakeholders, including Referees Liaison Officers and Security Liaison Officers, to align on daily transport demands, contingencies, and to uphold bubble-to-bubble protocols. Leadership responsibilities include coaching transport crews, managing schedules and welfare for assigned staff, and ensuring operational discipline aligned with FIFA’s high standards.

Critical competencies for this role include excellent interpersonal skills, robust communication and stakeholder management abilities, and strong project management expertise. The Coordinator must exhibit adaptability to dynamic environments, resilience under pressure, and a collaborative spirit to navigate the complexities of a major international event. Fluency in English is required, with Spanish and/or French proficiency considered an advantage.

Prospective candidates should have at least two years of transport work experience within major football or sporting events, or one year as a Client Transport Manager or in a similar role, ideally with experience across world-class tournaments such as previous FIFA World Cups or the Olympic Games. Educational backgrounds pertinent to the role include degrees in Transport Planning, Sports Management, Event Management, or related fields, supplemented by hands-on experience and technical knowledge in transport logistics and event operations.

Joining FIFA26 as a Coordinator in Transport Client Services for Referees offers the unique opportunity to become an integral part of one of the most significant sporting events in the world. This role not only demands operational excellence but also an ongoing commitment to the vision of uniting the world through football.
