The Recreation Coordinator position at Broward College is a full-time role that operates under the limited supervision of the Senior Director of Student Recreation Activities. This role is essential in coordinating, implementing, and managing district-wide intramural sports, sport clubs, recreational programming, and various student engagement initiatives across Broward College campuses. The coordinator provides critical administrative, operational, and programmatic support by executing intramural leagues, overseeing sport club development, facilitating recreational events, coordinating facilities and equipment, and supporting student staff. Working collaboratively with the Senior Director and other campus departments, the Recreation Coordinator helps ensure that the programs align with departmental goals, college policies, and operational procedures.
This role is designed to enhance program delivery and logistical support while also fostering student leadership development and maintaining a safe, inclusive recreational environment. The Recreation Coordinator actively engages in participant recruitment, marketing and outreach efforts, scheduling, compliance, and risk management. The position requires strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, alongside proficiency in event coordination and student development. The work schedule includes varied hours Monday through Friday, weekends, and occasional travel between campuses and to other institutions or sport facilities. The salary range offered for this position is $42,320 to $49,726, commensurate with education and experience.

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- four years of experience in recreation, intramural sports, sport clubs, student activities, campus programming, or related fields preferred
- experience with event coordination, recreational programming, student development, or club sports administration strongly preferred
- ability to travel regularly between Broward College campuses
- willingness to travel to other colleges, conferences, and sports facilities
- ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- ability to support recreational events, club activities, and student programs in indoor and outdoor settings
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Job Duties
- Assist the Senior Director in the planning, coordination, and implementation of district-wide intramural sports, sport clubs, and recreational programs, activities, and events
- assist with the administration and daily operation of intramural leagues, tournaments, sport club activities, recreational programming, and special events across multiple campuses
- support the development, organization, and oversight of sport clubs by assisting student leaders with operational procedures, scheduling, compliance, and program support
- assist with participant recruitment, communication, and engagement efforts while ensuring adherence to college policies and procedures
- support promotional efforts, marketing initiatives, and outreach strategies to increase student awareness and participation in BC REC programs and sport clubs
- assist with facility scheduling, equipment coordination, travel logistics, and staffing support for recreational programs and sport club activities
- assist in the recruitment, scheduling, training, and supervision of student employees, referees, officials, club participants, and part-time personnel
- provide support for student leadership development through sport club advising, staff mentoring, and recreational programming initiatives
- assist with maintaining safe recreational environments by supporting risk management procedures, facility readiness, travel oversight, and equipment maintenance
- collect participation data and assist with program evaluation, reporting, and assessment efforts
- collaborate with campus departments and Student Life staff to assist in program implementation across all campuses
- perform related duties as assigned by the Senior Director of Student Recreation Activities
