Job Description

The Girl Scouts council is a reputable organization dedicated to empowering young girls through a variety of educational and leadership programs. Operating as a nonprofit, the council focuses on fostering skills that help girls grow into confident, caring, and courageous individuals. With a strong emphasis on community involvement, diversity, and inclusion, the Girl Scouts council partners with volunteers, staff, and external vendors to provide engaging experiences. They are committed to safety, risk management, and continually improving facility operations to ensure the highest standards for all participants. This particular council is based in the Central region and offers a dynamic work environment that values innovation, collaboration, and a strong connection to the Girl Scout program principles.

The position of Coordinator, Property & Technology, is a full-time, non-exempt role reporting directly to the Senior Director of Property, Technology & Risk Management. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of the council's information technology and property functions. The Coordinator acts as a key liaison between various stakeholders, including council departments, external IT vendors, managed service providers, staff, volunteers, and guests. Responsibilities include managing IT asset inventories, coordinating help desk and technical support, supporting risk management tasks, and assisting with property-related work orders and inspections.

In addition to managing vendor relationships and supporting Request for Proposal (RFP) processes related to IT, property, and risk management, the Coordinator helps document and update internal processes and procedures. Training staff on the use of equipment and software is also part of the role, alongside preparing company-owned devices for onboarding and offboarding employees. This position collaborates with the data team to manage the property reservation system, supports seasonal projects such as camp opening and closing, and helps track capital improvements and special property initiatives.

Working at the Girl Scouts council offers an opportunity to blend administrative, technical, and operational expertise while supporting a mission-driven organization aimed at building leadership qualities in girls. Candidates who thrive in this role will have excellent organizational and communication skills, a detail-oriented approach, a commitment to teamwork, and the ability to engage effectively with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders. The role requires flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends and involves travel within the council’s jurisdiction up to 20 percent of the time. Importantly, the council looks for individuals who either already understand or are willing to learn the Girl Scout program's values and standards, adding depth and meaning to their day-to-day functions.

This position requires proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, as well as an ability to handle physical demands such as lifting equipment weighing up to 25 pounds and standing or sitting for prolonged periods. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, critical thinker, and leader with a customer-centric mindset and a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Working at the Girl Scouts council means joining an organization dedicated to social justice, innovation, and stewardship, where your contributions directly impact the growth and safety of the community served.
