Job Description
The National Multiple Sclerosis Society is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing research for a cure for multiple sclerosis and enhancing the lives of individuals impacted by MS. As part of its mission, the Society mobilizes people and resources through various initiatives, including funding innovative research, driving advocacy efforts, providing professional education, and offering vital programs and services for people affected by MS and their families. Collaborating with volunteers and staff, the organization relies on effective communication and meaningful engagement to drive measurable impact and community involvement. The National Multiple Sclerosis Society operates regionally and nationally, working in partnership with MS organizations worldwide to create a united front against this challenging disease. This role is a market-based position within the Southeast Region, specifically serving the Florida Chapter with a focus on the Jacksonville, FL area. The Coordinator is responsible for supporting the planning, execution, and evaluation of fundraising events such as galas, luncheons, and auctions that contribute to the Society's vital mission. This includes working closely with internal teams and volunteers to ensure smooth logistical arrangements, compelling participant experiences, and strong community engagement to drive donor stewardship and fundraising success. The Coordinator plays a pivotal role in managing event materials, tracking inventories, coordinating volunteer and vendor activities, and collaborating cross-functionally with regional development coordinators to promote standardized operating procedures that enhance team efficiency. With approximately 50% travel required, this position balances remote work with regular in-person attendance at meetings and events. The role offers an estimated compensation range of $50,000 to $55,000 annually, with the final offer influenced by geographic location and experience. The National MS Society provides a comprehensive benefits package to employees that includes paid time off, paid holidays, 401k retirement savings with matching, commuter benefits as well as extensive health and welfare coverage encompassing medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability, and access to Spring Health offerings such as free therapy and professional coaching. The Society is committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive workforce where individuals can bring their authentic selves to work and contribute their unique talents toward ending MS. Joining the National Multiple Sclerosis Society means becoming part of a mission-driven team dedicated to making a meaningful impact on the lives of those affected by MS while enjoying robust support for professional growth and career development through structured Talent Portraits and pathways for leadership and individual contributor advancement.
